God's will? Screw that. If he's so powerful, why does he need other people's prayers to get along? I want a God who can set me up with some BLING. Know what I'm saying?

I mean it was obvious from the beggining u let a category like this and it's obvious with the countless no: of religions in this world that this wud turn into a battlefield.Ppl are just hurting each others feeling whether consciouscly or unconsciously, more conscioucly than not.I dont know bout ull but this category just spoils my mood.

This category cud be used for learning bout other religions by askin ppl who are of that religion.Or else yahoo cud just remove this category.

...and that person was an outspoken atheist or agnostic, would you vote for him or her, assuming the candidate shares most of the rest of your political views?

And by outspoken atheist or agnostic, I mean someone that openly admits to those beliefs, and not necessarily someone who is really militant or adamant about them (though I'm having a hard time picturing a militant agnostic).

trying to ask a serious question here...

For those of you who say "I don't hate gays, God does." ?
The thought that God would create some people different from others just so he could hate them is appalling, like those rich white people in the sixties who adopted black children just to have someone to abuse--makes the whole religion seem repugnant.
do christians understand that?does anyone agree?

I've seen all these videos about the Good Person Test that they do at places like Way of the Master and other orgs like Repent and Trust. It doesn't make any sense to non Christians. So why do it?

It is completely inconsequential to you. It doesn't help them. It causes the suffering of nice people. Your fictitious rule-book doesn't even say it's your business, it says God will deal with it. It is very silly that you even concern yourself with their lives, like banning them from the social contract of marriage. No one else is banned from getting married, like Jews, or a Jew to a Hindu, or a couple of atheists etc... Do you realize that? Do you realize that you hurt good people because of your irrational personal fears?

Qur'an:4:95 "Not equal are believers who sit home and receive no hurt and those who fight in Allah's Cause with their wealth and lives. Allah has granted a grade higher to those who fight with their possessions and bodies to those who sit home. Those who fight He has distinguished with a special reward."

When i was growing up, they did mention Jesus from time to time, and during graduation from highschool, they forced all the parents and children to pray to Jesus specifically.

say god only answers prayers if its in his will?

cause as far as i remember the bible doesnt say, "ask and you shall recieve, only if it sin gods will"
or "with faith the size of a mustard seed, one can move mountains, unless its not in gods will"

so where do they get this from? how come u can add context to verses but asking for interpretations on verses is taking them out of context?

2007-02-06 05:10:06 · 12 answers · asked by Anonymous

1st off, this is not in anyway a gay bash! If you interpret it as such, you interpret wrong! This is a serious question that I wanted to know the answer to.

How do you, as a gay person, & also says they are a Christian, reconcile your lifestyle? There is no denying by anyone that the Bible says homosexuality is a sin. Many want to re-interpret or change the meaning to fit them. But as a Christian, how do you read the many passages that refer to it as an abomination & still continue? Do you think that if you are good in other areas its ok?

Even if you feel that you were born gay, decided to become, or anything else, how does it make you feel knowing you are going against the will of the God you serve? Dont get me wrong, its the same with the adulterer who claims Christianity, thief, liar, drunkard, whoremonger, killer & all others that are not to receive the kingdom according to God.

I think that the lifestyle is hard enough to deal w/ & add on trying to make it fit w/ God.

Back when we had World War II, there was a huge amount of people who went to church, their place of gathering to pray for loved ones and to be around other people who wished everyone the best. God is Love. When we became a nation, we were a nation under God. When ever war would break out, it would send its people to the churches and the love for one another would pour out and then we would prevail. Love is the greatest form of energy and the fact that there has been such a decrease of people joining together to exert that power and make our people and our nation strong, it is no wonder then our own men and women are dieing in Iraq. We have become a desensitized nation and the lack of love exerted today is what is making our nation weak.

In this forum I see way too many hypocrites here bashing religion. You claim that you are the "logical" ones and base your reasoning on science that God does not exist. This is just wrong! If God does exist he can not be explained in the physical world because he is outside that realm. There is no way we could ever prove that God does not exist, nor is there anyway we could prove he does. Your attitude that religion is such a ridiculous concept based on science is ignorance on your part, just as a believer trys to prove God based on science. Keep to the philisophical arguments to make your case if he exists or not, but keep science out of it!!
