Personal guilt, brainwashing, most people who strongly believe in Christianity do so because they feel it is the only way they can connect with god, that there is no other god and those who don't believe in god must be saved. It is harder to find ones own spiritual identity and take strength from your own personal beliefs. Christianity is high in its social function in our society people can look around them and know there are like minded individuals everywhere which makes them feel as if they are doing the right thing because it is good enough for everyone else. I don't hate Christians, but being a Taoist for half of my life now i can't recall how many times I've been asked to go to someones church because their church is very accepting of others an that Taoist are welcome, the whole time offending me as if to say what i believe isn't real and something that can work in conjunction with Christianity even though it is a philosophy which precedes Christianity by thousands of years and is the only belief system i hold in my life.

Making a generalized statement like that isn't...uh...logical.
When I come up against someone who hates Christians I take them for what they are... a non-Christian. A non-Christian doesn't just have to be an Atheist or Pagan etc.,
So making a generalized sweeping statement like that is what...?

If I ever assume a "hater" is atheist, it's because of something specific that person has said regarding religion, not Christianity. Otherwise I simply assume the "hater" is not a Christian. Why do Pagans assume we care one way or the other? :P

I don't make that assumption at all. I *do* however assume that people who hate other people are in need of some love and healing.
Nobody in their right mind goes around hating other people. . .that's senseless. And to declare someone an "enemy" because of their religion is about as prejudiced as prejudiced ever gets.
That's what my Christian faith has taught me, anyway. And if your religion has taught you to hate and belittle others, then I'm sincerely sorry for you. That's not much of a way to live.

I am an animist pagan type and some Christians make me really mad, but I don't hate them. My spirituality has shown me it's wrong to hate.

Those ones (the ones who think that) seem to be under the mistaken impression that if you're not a Christian you must be an Atheist. Even people in my own family (who are Christian) don't seem to understand that it is possible to practice a different religion, or to believe in a different God.

The Christians are very narrow minded. They see anyone not Christian must be a Satanist. Atheism is a new concept in the Christian mind. Therefor if your not a Christian, you must be an Atheist or a Satanist.

The Romans called the first Christa ins Atheist, because they worshiped a man, not a god. And they do this to atone themselves of their wrong doings

So you've met every Christian on the face of this earth and hate them all ... I pity you for your judgemental bigotted hatred.
