In this forum I see way too many hypocrites here bashing religion. You claim that you are the "logical" ones and base your reasoning on science that God does not exist. This is just wrong! If God does exist he can not be explained in the physical world because he is outside that realm. There is no way we could ever prove that God does not exist, nor is there anyway we could prove he does. Your attitude that religion is such a ridiculous concept based on science is ignorance on your part, just as a believer trys to prove God based on science. Keep to the philisophical arguments to make your case if he exists or not, but keep science out of it!!

I am not bashing atheists or anyone else, I am just saying do not make your argument on the existance of God based on science. I believe in evolution by the way..things such as Creationism are perfect examples of God existance trying to be proved by science. I am a biochemistry major so that might throw off your stereotype...

~~~Alamo ,,, Personally I don't detect anything "Stereotypical" about your rant on 'Science'. Educated and informed atheists, as myself, use science in the same way that Copernicus and Gallileo used in their respective times. Copernicus only had a "theory" based on deduction of his scientific knowledge. Gallileo took that knowledge, and using his advantage of technology, ie; science, by using a telescope, could demonstrate(prove) the contentions of Copernicus that The Science of The Bible is indeed wrong in it's assertion of The Earth being the center of the Universe, of which everything revolves. And furthermore, we now know that the Earth isn't even the center of our own little galaxy. Consequently, the "Holy Scripture" is wrong on Multiple Counts,,, and if one knows their History, then we know that the Church Authorities(religion="god") persecuted these Scientists by claims that "their Scripture is The Irrefuteable Word of God". Now, there is another line to cross within the Realm of Science which might throw you into a world of more confusion,,,Metaphysics. Metaphysics is merely Physics beyond man's Understanding of Known Physics !! Primitive people of today who are exposed to Modern Aviation believe this to be Magic, ie; "Metaphysics", by the special powers/knowledge of White People,,,Again, I urge you to study, ie; gain knowledge, by studying that which has come before,,, but Learn the message behind the Symbolism of Religious Iconography and Allegory by learning from those who do not have a Religious Authority to appease. Read from the Great Thinkers of History who challenged church doctrine with Intellectualism of Honest Scrutiny.............
You can't keep science out of it. Such as with Dinosaurs. Science/Math develop logical reasoning and special perception. Some Creationists believe Math to be the language of God. This maybe just an idea, but the science of our universe is something man has tried to figure out for years. The exact formula of Oxygen & Nitrogen & various other gases in order for us to breath. Gravity, that keeps us from flying to space. The human eye. Our blood, DNA.
Man cannot logically explain these things, why, what, where. So we create an explaination that man can fathom, big bang theory. God is hard for man to accept. No beginning, no end. So we try endlessly to prove He doesn't exist.
Most people believe in an evil force, ghosts, wicked spirits that move things around your house. Yet they can't believe in a Loving, Creator-God. If man believes in God, we have someone to answer to for our bad behavior.
You believe in evolution????? Who is the hypocrite?? So you are a pick and choose Christian. You decide what you will believe in. You pick things out of the Bible to believe. When the Bible tells us to defend our faith, your defense is pretty lame.
I believe that having faith is a beautiful thing, people pick everything apart because they fear what they do not understand. When it comes to religion, people are afraid...maybe because they fear that there is a god and that they will be judged, maybe they wish they had faith but do not, in anything, therefore make statements to hurt others. Religious fanatics are as harmful as the people who put no sacred value on life and nature and believe only in science. We need to have understanding and compassion for each other....you sound as though you have faith, then you should have compassion for the faithless, having no spirituality would make ones life seem so empty and lacking, and it doesn't matter where that spirituality lies and stems from. It is such a luxury to be allowed to debate such topics.
Science has proven things like how old the earth really is, how living things have evolved, how the earth moves around the sun (and not the sun moving as it says in the bible). Sorry, but I believe that while science has yet to prove if god exists or not, what it HAS shown is proof that the bible is not accurate and can be dismissed as false. So no, we won't leave science out of it. You can dismiss the facts if you want to, but we won't.
Your argument is purely agnostic. It is one of the most common arguments around, philisophically. You say god can not be explained in the physical world, therefor god must be supernatural. However, if god is supernatural he is out of the frame of reality, and metaphysically speaking, out of the realm of exitence. No, god cannot be proven to not exist, for the same reason you cannot tell me monsters under my bed don't exist.So, with your argument I must ask if god exists within the natural universe, or if he is outside the universe?
But taking this road, is only fueling the fire in those atheists bellies. Either just let it be, or go ahead and start a fight that NO ONES gonna win.
HEy nice to see a scientist of faith.
Proves my point that logical people still need faith in something.
Blessed Be
Surely you're being hypocritical by being ignorant to other beliefs even if that means being a non believer. Get off your soap box. Far too much to cope with after a hard days work
hypocrite comes from greek origins for actors in the Hypodrome
you must act as if you believe in order to play a convincing role in your drama
you are doing well to play the infantile godbeliever who is throwing a fit because no one wants to play along in your fantasy
go with what is, not what you wish to be....
others have failed, why must you be next?
science is the very reason we have evolved, while religion opposed it strongly even killed to stop progressives
if you can't prove something exists, it automatically falls under the unknown. Therefore is not relevant to humans at this time. Except in science fiction entertainment.
I only disbelieve which surely I'm entitled to do-I've never said science proves God doesn't or can't exist.
