say god only answers prayers if its in his will?

cause as far as i remember the bible doesnt say, "ask and you shall recieve, only if it sin gods will"
or "with faith the size of a mustard seed, one can move mountains, unless its not in gods will"

so where do they get this from? how come u can add context to verses but asking for interpretations on verses is taking them out of context?

If you look hard enough you can prove pretty much anything by quoting the bible try using your mind instead

Sounds like you want a god who says "ask and you shall recieve, I am your cosmic Santa Clause". I have spent time reading your questions today, and it is obvious you have underlying frustrations, perhaps you have questions about the nature of God rather than the nature of Christians that you should be asking. But-the context that some Christians will be adding to their answer comes from understanding this text in harmony with the rest of the Scriptures.

At the very core of any religion is the idea that some "Holy Man" knows the mind of God better than you do. So when you come to the questions you have, you are supposed to go to the "Holy Man" and let him tell you what you have to do to be "in the grace of God". Naturally, that gives him all sorts of power and control over your life. Which is why and how most "Holy Men" become rich and powerful beyond reason. But only the really "Good" ones, of course.

God only hears the prayers of those who obey His laws and that are of His will. "Thy will be done" is what God said we are to ask for in our prayers.

Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

How is it out of context if it is exactly what God said? It's not!
God also said this... when you said he didn't say it...

Proverbs 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

If you are not born again and living a righteous life with the Lord, your prayers will not be heard by the Lord.

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

If you do not accept God, and His word, and His son Jesus, and live according to His word in the Holy Bible, God will not hear you at all. You must be saved in order for God to hear you...

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

It doesn't matter if people do not believe this, it won't make it any less true! You must be living according to God's will or He will not hear you! Because God did say so!

The Scripture does tells us to ask. However, God sees the bigger pictures...and we don't.

He's not going to give you a "YES" if you are asking for something that will hurt you or someone else. He's not going to give you a "YES" if he has something better planned for you down the road.

There are three answers to prayers:
1) Yes
2) No (you may not like the answer but it is an answer.)
3) Wait for my perfect timing

It's amazing...you begin praying His will be done...and watch the power of prayer!!!

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 18:19

Amazing how that can't be taken literally but Genesis can.

If I were angry with someone and prayed that they would die, God would not grant this. It is against His will and His teachings. So yes, make sure your prayers are in line with His will.

Since when did faith go about our own earthly gain. God knows what you need before you have even asked Him for it. The important question here is was it for your own selfish gain or for ADVANCING THE KINGDOM OF GOD.!!!!!!!

Because a Christian who is in fellowship with God would automatically be praying within His will.

Usually people will add, 'if it is Your will', because that is what Jesus did when He prayed for the Crucifixion to pass Him by, He wanted God's will, not His.
