If a preacher at church preaches against homosexuality; calling it a sin and supporting his position with scripture. Is he guilty of a hate crime? Is speech can speech be considered hate and were does our right to free speech come to an end? If a preacher (or anyone else for that matter) does not condone a action by someone and then speaks out against that action are they guilty of hate speech? I’m not talking about someone who would condone reprisals against others for their actions I am only talking about opinions whether they are popular or not.

I mentioned slavery in the Old Testament before, and some Christians dismissed what I said as "complete rubbish" and that I was "totally taking it out of context." They said it didn't count because it was from the Old Testment.

In that case, why are so many anti-gay (a totally Old Testament ideology) movements still going so strong?

When it comes to beliefs, you can't just selectively choose what to believe.

If you don't take it all, you shouldn't deserve to take any of it.

Religion questions to ask?
i am doing a project for school on Islam and need to interview people. Can you think of any good questions i can ask?
i'm agnostic, hence my problem. i've made a list, but i need over 20 questions and im not religious at all so i dont even know where to begin asking somebody about their own religion. its a pretty in-depth class...
the boy i'm asking is a pretty good friend of mine, so i don't have to worry about being 'decent and non-intrusive', but i don't want to sound ignorant.
i've read the qu'ran, so don't tell me to do that.

I mean Southern Americans during the 1950's, of course. The majority of the white people that lived down their were notorious for their intolerance of blacks and black culture.

Doesn't anyone else find it ironic that the people there preached so much about Jesus' love and then they go out at night and lynch a couple of African Americans for enjoyment?

Some Christians down there went as far as to say that "God hates blacks...for their dark skin is evidence of their uncleanly souls..."

SIGNS

Christ gave some events to recognize the end times.

In Matt.24:3-8, Mark 13:5-8, Luke 21:8-11.

Many shall come in my name (authority) saying I am Christ (Christian) and shall deceive many.

The best example of this is the so-called Rapture. This is a LIE which can easily be disproved by God’s Word. Christ returns at the seventh trump.

Wars and rumors of war.

Nation shall rise (rouse from obscurity) against (along side) nation kingdom against (along side) kingdom.

The words “shall rise” (eg-i'-ro) in Greek means “rouse from obscurity”.

This word “against” (epi) in Greek means “along side” not in opposition to.

Since 1990 (30) new countries have emerged. We now have the global market place or the global community.

Famines.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

This famine of hearing the words of the LORD is very apparent on TV. Maybe a verse or two then mans’ words for 20 minutes.

Pestilences.

Aids, mad cow disease, bird flu and etc.

Earthquakes in diverse places.

This word “earthquakes” (seismos) in Greek means both “earthquake and tempest”.

Look at the hurricanes we have been having.

All these are the beginning of sorrows (birth pangs).

This word “sorrows” (odin) in Greek means “birth pangs of childbirth”.

The birth pangs of a new dispensation, and the contractions are getting closer together. The water may have broke during the tsunami of 2004.

It's possible He might have been there. He would've went there to try and teach them God's word.

O.k, so here it is. I just did a quick research on this but my findings are still somewhat inconclusive. Is it Caesar Augustus or Augustus Caeser? The Bible says it's Caesar Augustus but other searches I've been through suggest otherwise and visa versa in other searches which pretty much balances out the answer to a stalemate. Personally, I think it's Caesar Augustus. I go by the bibles reference to his name. Please do not write a novel here as I'm not very patient with long papers.

I was wondering if you had spent several yrs./over a decade within a marriage and the only time you socialized was during holidays w/family members, hardly ever spent time w/one another (even tho you'd requested it a bunch, but just "okay'd"--nothin happened productively..ect)
SO---------did you decide to start joining a church for spiritual development, socializing more and it helped you w/fulfillment and happiness??
My husband will not go to church w/me. he keeps saying he will, but doesn't for some reason I feel guilty for going w/my friend even tho it helps me and fulfills me. INstead he says "he says he's keeping an eye on me, because I'm pretty and will get attention from other men." I am so FED UP w/this guy I married

Would you rather, spend eternity in heaven giving praise to a being who created you (he also allowed for the possibility of hell, where he sends your loved ones who do not believe to be tortured for all eternity)? or would you rather cease to exist?

All religions and philosophy preach and teach that love is the ultimate quality there could ever be in terms of morality, and yet these very religions and schools of thoughts cannot use that ultimate quality for unity with one another for the sake of that same love.

My question is: what do you think would happen if all religions of the world gather in unity for the sake of that love they all preach and teach about and really show love for one another?

I mean let's say the world decides to leave behind their religious and philosophical differences for one complete month for the sake of this love and REALLY care for one another on this planet by bringing balance between rich and poor, enjoyment and suffering, happiness and sadness and see what happens as a result of this global and yet divine movement

- Do you think it's feasible or not, give reasons in any case.

- If feasible, what would result of this great global movement for the sake of mankind as a whole?

thank you.
