Like the pope?
lol. It's just pride. A desire to be better than everyone else comes naturally with our sinful ways. heh.

I don't know, but I'm just like you. I've disobeyed God my fair share of times, I've just accepted his son, the savior, Jesus.

To accept in Greek is to hold on to and never let go.

I'd say I'm doing a good job of it.

I think this perception has more to do with humanity as a whole, not just Christians. Many Atheists act superior as well by stating, or implying that Christians are dumb, or just blindly following a myth or "fairytale". I have noticed that you called the Bible a fairytale in one of your posts. Perhaps it wasn't your intent, but it seems you are trying to show your superiority by denigrating the beliefs of others. We all want to believe we are right, with some people these beliefs may come across as arrogant, hence the perception that one believes himself to be superior.

I guess if you believe that God is on your side that could cause a problem for some people. However, God loves all people the same and no one should get high and mighty, because God can find lots of ways to humble a person. I think of Jim Bakker, they started out fine but power goes to the head and he ended up in jail. However, God is faithful and has helped Jim get a life even after all the trouble.

I believe that some Christians only have been taught about the physical aspect of Christianity, so when they think that all sins have been thwarted, their self-will feels good about it. Yet when one really desires to know God, they can find the Spirit and transcend their former teachers of religious law. Does anyone remember when you first felt God's prescence? How alive you felt!? Then you went to Church and slowly but surely that "feeling" was choked from you? Jesus told the Church in Asia in Revelation, "Go back to your first love." Well He is talking to US about HIM!! So to answer you, to "feel" superior tells them that they "are" superior. But it is a lack of growth that binds them into that sad state. God blesses those who seek Him.

The same goes every way. I think it is just human nature, sadly. It should not be so, though. We are all human, and we are all in the same boat. Really, who cares who is right or not? Shouldn't we make the world a better place by building up others and not tearing them down? That's what I think, anyway.

If a Christian thinks he is superior, it just means he really hasn't understood Christianity yet at all.
A true Christian is someone who realizes he is a hopeless sinner, who, if God doesn't save him, doesn't have the proverbial "snowball's chance in hell."

Jesus Christ said He did not come to call the righteous (those who trust in their own goodness), but rather sinners, to repentance.

because they have not taken on board the teaching of Jesus which says 'Go, make disciples of all nations'. Therefore, they get the attitude that they are better cos they don't understand that God says we are all equal under Him.

I am a Christian. I hope I am never like the above Christians

The same reason (some) athiests think they're superior and everyone else is weak-minded, stupid, pathetic losers. Or fill in the blank with any other group of people and opinions.

For the same reason some atheists think they are superior, or some Muslims think theirs is the correct way, or some ...
there is always someone who thinks he or she is superior.

I think most of those Christians think that being a Christian is going to church every Sunday. They don't read the Bible and do not have complete understanding of what a Christian is.
