So we have a spirit do we? Are we a ghost or a bottle of whiskey.
So we have a soul do we? What are we a pair of boots (sorry for the pun)
Spirit.soul? Where can I find these non - essentials of my life. Take away the Bible and there is no reason to believe that there is a spirit or a soul within us and I don't believe what I read in the Bible anymore than I believe what I read in the daily newspapers.
I wish someone would SPIRIT away these Christians SOUL I can give my ears a rest from their bleating.

Most definitions state that a soul is the spiritual essence of a human being. There are some religions--especially those believing in reincarnation--that believe animals may also possess a soul. Believing that animals--especially beloved pets--have souls can be comforting. By examining the possibilities, we can determine what to believe.
God created souls to be and experience Itself. A soul needs life in order to evolve. Souls look for (physical and spiritual) experiences. Through the evolution from animal to human and from human to human, souls look for ever increasing (awareness)experiences, in which process going through the perfect oneness with God ('Nirvana') is the highest experience. In that feeling of unity in diversity, man experiences his alliance with all living creatures.

There is no real description of the creation of the animals. It just says God created them, but not how or from what. It does make a distinction beween the creation of birds and fish, on the fifth day, and animals and man on the sixth day.

I see nothing in the Bible that indicates the specifics of how animals were created. It simply states that they were created by God and that they were "good". Later, in Genesis 2:18, it states that God determined that it was not good for man to be alone. Genesis 2:20 states that God brought all the animals to Adam for him to give names to them. This is followed by the statement: But for Adam, no suitable helper was found. It appears that the two verses speak of the same thing. Adam was alone and God's first intent was to have one of the animals be his helpmate. To my thinking..God then saw that it would be necessary to make another "same but opposite" Adam as the helpmate...thus Eve. God realized that only someone like himself (Adam) would be satisfactory.
The question you asked earlier about whether or not animals have a soul is interesting and can be answered in a thousand different ways depending on viewpoint. As an animal lover, I tend to think that any living creature is capable of having a soul and yes, I do believe they go to a special place when they die. Maybe not heaven in our sense but certainly to a special place. The God I know is loving and kind and he would only see it as just that someone or something that brings such great pleasure to man be rewarded. If you've ever had a pet I think you will understand that concept. We love them, we take pleasure in them, we are made joyful by them and we grieve them when they're gone. That in them which makes us feel those emotions is their "soul". God Bless.

I think spirit and soul are the same thing and I think animals have spirits. God gave life to everything that lives. There's one thing I can't understand about the creation of animals and it has to do with clean and unclean, not just as a healthy diet. Satan has played his role there also.

Genesis 1:20 'And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. '
The Hebrew word 'nephesh',is translated as 'soul' for both animal s and humans. But that type of soul means 'life' as in living and breathing, not necessarily meaning an eternal spirit. But the Bible talks about animals in the Millenial Kingdom.

Gen 1 says let us created man in our image....Gen 2 explains that man was formed from the dirt and God breathed in his spirit and the two became a living soul...This is the image of God Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the difference in a man and animals . Animals are flesh and they perish wiht their flesh man is in the image of God and therefore is more than flesh.

Spirit creatures were not mentioned also.............Since the animals were not able to read the Bible, they really didn't have to know how they were created. .....Man on the other hand were created with reason and the ability to gain knowledge, so it was good on Gods part to tell us how we were made.

Starting in Genesis, chapter 1, vs.20, God started to create fish, small ones, then whales & so on. Then He made the birds, then things like cattle, creeping things(reptiles), and every beast of the earth. How were these creatures created? Well, in one of those verses(24), it says " Let the earth bring forth the living creature ,after his kind----- etc " He created them from the earth, or "dust", to which they will return when they die, just like us, since Adam was made from clay, or dirt.
