It's possible He might have been there. He would've went there to try and teach them God's word.

It is believed by many scholars that Jesus did indeed seek teachings and wisdom from ascetics, monks and teachers from the areas of the world where Buddhism existed during his life. It is believed that he was very arrogant and hostile in his approach to learning the teachings of others but it is also stated by those same scholars that he had insight and understanding that was uncannily similar to the Buddha himself. Though no Buddhist, myself included, will ever suggest that he may have had the same level of awareness that Sidhartha had, he may have come very close. It is important to remember, assuming that the Christian understanding of Jesus is correct, that Jesus was a god wrapped in a man's body. The limitations that such a confining element would provide would be like putting Michelangelo in a straight jacket. Jesus may not have yet known who he was yet. Again, assuming the Christian dogma is indeed true. However, since there is absolutely no credible evidence that their savior is who and what they claim, I am skeptical.

I hope that this helps you in your quest.

The Gospel of Thomas (from the Nag Hammadi Scrolls) is a book of saying of Jesus, and a lot of them are VERY similar to Buddhist thinking. Buddhism was around for 500 years before Jesus was even born.

It is possible that Jesus went to India before he began his ministry, but theres no real proof of that. However, that does not mean there was no contact with Buddhism, even in Palestine.
Lost of people from India, Persia, Arabia traveled through Alexandria and Palestine back then.

Buddhist philosophy eschews the idea of an omnipotent creator god and dualistic thinking such as monotheism teaches, therefore his ideas would have and did fall "flat". The Dharma has remained relatively pure down through the ages and was established LONG before Jesus walked the earth. While we respect Christianity, we disagree with much of the philosophical nature of it as it exists now. If it works for others that's peachy.

Not sure where there is. Even so, Buddhism was around in various forms long before the time of Jesus.

Jesus, the son of Joseph and Mary, was
Never in India. He never traveled outside of
Israel. Jesus' ministry lasted 3 & a half years confined within Isreal. He said, "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to God except through Me," to the Jews, In Isreal.
Information in Judaism is confirmed, (yes, even in Jesus' days), as Truth, as trustworthy, "by the witness of 3 or more witnesses!" Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, confirmed that Jesus said that He was the way, the truth, and the life, & that no one comes to God but through
Him. It states this in their Gospels. And because of this it is recognized as truth to christianity, cause what Jesus said to the Jews, in Isreal. I hope your not having any trouble with what I am trying to convey.

Just as Siddhartha Gautama, never left India. His ministry of the Eightfold Path lasted 45 years. He wrote down Most of what he taught.
Just, as Jesus, Joseph and Mary's son, never left Isreal. Siddhartha Gautama (or who buddhists commonly call "The Buddha, after his enlightenment{when he reached awareness, mindfulness) had never heard of the belief in the One God of the Desert = YHWH, who is the God of Abraham, Moses, David, and Jesus, as well as Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, and Timothy (who continued the work of Paul, after Paul had died).
The only understanding Siddhartha Gautama had of a god is through Hinduism, which was the only active, practicing religion, in India at that time. Hinduism has One major God, a creator God, and thousands of other minor gods. Siddhartha Gautama was NEVER a
Hindu, believing in a god, or in many gods.
Siddhartha Gautama believed through objectivly observing the peoples in his country which practiced Hinduism, that people ran to their god or gods, and to their Shrines and churches, in times of fear, or when they wanted comfort. He through observation and insight concluded that the god-concept is fear driven. If he(Siddhartha Gautama) were here today, and have heard of the One God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, etc. he still would not have believed by blind faith, (Eph. 2:8-9) as christians do , because he would have observed that people Mostly come to god, in fear - in fear of going to a hell-fire place eternally separated from God, if they do not believe. Some people come to God, or to Joseph's and Mary's son, Jesus' because they have problems, or are lonely, or need comfort as well. Buddhism teaches that all of mankind is intelligent enough to find their own path to happiness, and inner peace of mind, as well as to end their own sufferings, through mindful living. Siddhartha Gautama taught throughout his 45 year ministry that humanity, through insight, has the ability to mindfulness, and unconditional love - with No attachments, to intelligently solve any problem/challenge through self-understanding. Most who practice the Dhammapada, choose to remain humbly teachable, and until God can be proven to them, remain open to all possibilities. But just as Atheists, Scientists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Sociologists, do not believe in a god, for the concept can not be proven, only accepted by mere faith, without Evidence,
Siddhartha Gautama, and followers of His teachings, choose not to operate by the blind faith which it takes to believe in a god. They require proven infallible evidence. Not given through a religious book either, for there are many religions with holy books claiming that they alone know the True god, and they all claim that they alone have god's holy words written in their holy book. But yet, all these religions fight, war, and kill each other, or at least harshly critisize, and judge and condemn one another, when Jesus said, "Do Not Judge anyone, {no ifs, and, or buts, Simply do Not Judge others). The display of such behavior definately would not convince Siddhartha Gautama, in believing in the One God of the Desert, Jesus' God. For Jesus' followers are not listening or obeying what He taught, To Love others, pray for them, AND Never to Judge other People. Siddhartha Gautama would logically conclude that all mankind, including all the followers of Jesus', and all the followers of the One God of the Desert, need to Transform their mind - ending their suffering, and gaining Stable inner Peace of Mind, and Happiness.

But to go to the point, No forms of Buddhism appeared after Jesus was India, because
"Jesus was Never in India." His life was confined to the walls, so to speak of Isreal(to the Jews), whom his messages, and teachings were directed to. He, Jesus, later asked all his followers to go out into all the world, and to share His Gospel with all people, stating that
whoever believes, and receives it, will be saved from hell fire, and receive eternal life with God the Father, and with Himself, and God's Holy Spirit, but those who do not believe, choose to be separated from God, for eternity.

I am no Theologian, but am a Psychologist with a Master's degree, who minored in world religions.

Hope this answer has helped you.

Have a Great Week, and always remain
Optimistic in Life.
