It is okay to convert from any religion to any other in the United States of America. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of all other countries.

Before you convert, though, consider carefully what you are doing. Consider what your core beliefs are. Think about what you believe and then ask yourself, "Is this what I really believe or is this what I believe because someone told me to believe this." Many people grow up with their parent's faith and never question it. They believe the way they do because their parents told them to when they were children. And then they either became afraid to question their beliefs for fear of ridicule or ostricisation or due to the "continuous brainwashing" of thier parent's faith. I do not suggest that anyone's faith is wrong, I just suggest that every person decide for themselves what they believe in.

It was from doing just this that allowed me to shed the confinement of my parent's Christian faith and adopt the teachings of Buddha. It isn't that I dislike the teachings of Christianity, it is merely that Buddhism reflects what I truly believe in MY heart.

I wish you the best of luck in your spiritual journey. In the words of Jerry Garcia, "What a long strange trip it's been." And it just keeps getting better as you go along. Namaste.

Totally - it is always ok to convert, but if you live in an Islamic community, it may have serious repurcussions to your life here on earth, but your eternal soul is more worth saving.

Matthew 10:28
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

No true Muslim would ever leave Islam. NO it is not ok but it is up to ALLAH to judge you. Islam is the true religion. Why would you dare to ask a question like that? Remember what it says in the Qur'an. ALLAH shall not forgive the Joining of partners with him in worship.

Do it., now. Except Jesus as Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is God Almighty every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is God..Its going to be tough being a Christian in these days but he who stands firm will receive the crown of life and shall rule over the nations.
