An average person of the modern era knows more profound facts and information than any relatively intelligent (mis)informed person did hundreds, especially thousands of years ago,
so why should anything they say at all be taken seriously or applied to anyone's lives today?
The faulty opinions and humorous myths of peoples gone by shouldn't be taken seriously except as a point of trivial interest or reference.

I think existence is designed, but i think it might be self designed.
St. Thomas Aquainas said everything was knowledge; therefore, God was the knower; is this just a new spin on an old idea?

I wouldn't mind reading some inspirational stories. Biographies.

Maybe some good theological works.

Any ideas?

Yes, I know lots of non-Christians do this. But I find this to be extremely common in Christians, in which they capitalize common nouns like "love" and "eternity."

Yes, it's not against the law. But I'm just wondering why they do this so often!!!

It's makes my eyes sore sometimes!!!

...in order to garner more than just 2 or 3 responses? WHY?

Does one have a need to be offended or angered in order to motivate a response?

Do some responders look for a thrill in the composing of a contencious response & a question may not lend itself to such?

Does the scripture that you already have prepared for a routine instant posting reply not seem suitable to the particular religious question?

Do most realize that the likelyhood of engrained beliefs being changed by others is probably near nil so a question may not be worth the effort of response from you?

Or, as is usually encountered in responses, will some simply say they cannot understand the very complex(?) questions such as I have posted here?

We've all seen it a jillion times before. An assertion of someone's existing beliefs gets posted with a question mark slapped on try to avoid getting it removed, then they pick as best whatever "answer" agrees with them in the most flagrantly brown-nosing manner. This is one of those "questions".
Here's the twist; I'm not telling you what my existing beliefs are first! Good luck.

Clearly they do not have a choice. My friend "came out of the closet" at the age of 23. He told me he had hid his homosexuality for his entire life in fear of getting fired/ losing friends.

Logically, if they do not have a choice God must have made them gay.

So then why is being gay a sin? Aren't people supposed to love the way "God made them!?"

Here's the way I understand it,

A god of good and a god of evil?

Out of chaos was born 2 Deities. One evil, one good. One positive and one negative. But Chaos was neither good nor evil. It was a void. 0 = 1 & 1

Should we really have to choose between the 2, or can we find knowledge from both aspects of nature?

Or could it be that there is no 'good and evil'?

It's only evil and lesser evil?

Proponents of Intelligent Design certainly seem to think so. They seem to think that the idea of an "Intelligent Designer" is scientific. This would certainly seem to place "God" within the universe as an object of empirical study. What do you think? Can we learn about "God" using beakers and test tubes? Is it conceivable that an "Intelligent Creator" might someday be a necessary part of some scientific theory? What are your thoughts on this issue? I'll probably ask this question in a few different categories to get some different answers and perspectives. I write this question because I saw an article in my local paper advocating intelligent design in science classes. I'm definitely writing a letter to the editor. :D

Christianity is not a religion its a Personal Relationship with Jesus... most people don't know, or believe this. Most churches follow the teachings of men, instead of Jesus...i.e the Catholic church. which elavates Mary and dimishes the works of Christ.

Ate at a Turkish restaurant today. They didn't serve pork, but beer, wine and Irish coffee. I was wandering wether they compromised their beliefs because a restaurant usually makes a lot of profit with alcohol or if alcohol is actually allowed for muslims?
