and you realized that God is real and the Bible was the truth- and you had to face judgment....and it all made sense right then but it was too late for you....

would that concern you at all RIGHT NOW? In this life? Just what if?

People are too fixated on God being one thing- God is loving, and that is just it! You don't get it- He loved us so much He made a way for us through Jesus Christ, to be saved and be with him forever! He didnt' have to, and we could of all been sent to hell. There is punishment for sin, and that is how it is. If there was not, God would not be Just and Righteous.

When I say fixated on one thing, I mean they do not see God's righteousnes and Justice and Mercy and Wrath--how it all makes him PERFECT and HOLY.

It is scary to think of all the people that will happen too. If people would just understand that God is the way to go, so many people will be saved from eternal hell. But the road is narrow, not many people will make it on that road and that is very sad. If I died tomorro, I know I love God and everything he has done for me. he is an awesome God!

No.

Suppose that you died right now and you realized that there was a god, but it hated Christians because they follow their leaders like sheep. You also realized that this god loved atheists because they thought for themselves and went with what they had as evidence. And all of this made sense to you, but it was too late for you.... would that concern you at all RIGHT NOW? In this life?

Hmm, I didn't think so.

See, it really works both ways. All possible invisible beings that I can think of are equally unlikely to exist. It doesn't really make sense to worry about any of them.

I don't believe in God, not neccessarily, but I think there could be a higher being watching our every move. But hey, if God was real and came up into my face when I died, I'd try to argue my case that He didn't prove to me that he existed, and the Bible wasn't proof enough. He could have done a miracle for me or appeared on my toast or something. But if that failed, I probably would ask him if I could have a katana, so I could take over Hell.

No. This is the only life. What if you died right now and no longer existed? What if in 200 years from now nobody in the world remembered that you had ever lived? What if you are a shill to line the pockets of a preacher, pastor or priest?

From your own question, your god is loving and that's all there is to it. But I say if god existed and is so loving, there'd be no hell to begin with. Not that I believe any of it anyway.

I love my kids with all my heart and even if they did the worst thing imaginable, I would not want them to suffer for all eternity. That's not love.

No. Because I would not worship the deity described by the Christians and Muslims.

My morals are far too important to me to worship an All-Hating, All-Cruel, All-Sadistic deity as they describe.

--------------------

Yahweh created Hell in the first place. That he is willing to send people to infinite punishment for finite error means he is Infinitely Cruel.

Would you prepare a pot of boiling oil and then let your best friend walk off a cliff into it when you could instead reach over and pull him away from the edge? No?

Then why do you consider God moral for it?

-----------------

Okay, fine, there's more to him, just as in my example there'd be more to you than you being able to boil some oil. I presume you can also walk and talk, in addition to boiling oil.

Does the fact you can also walk and talk make you less morally vile for letting your friend jump into the cauldron of oil when it is in your power to stop him?

it all makes sense to me now, and your god & bible have nothing to do with it. there's no way i could EVER believe in it, so it doesn't really matter. there's no 'too late' for never.

what if you died and realized there was no god & the bible was fiction-- and you lived your whole life believing a lie...
would that concern you at all?

i would guess it would, probably more so than your scenario would concern me.

I don't fear a make believe God. If there is a God why would he use the fear of infinite punishment to be accepted?
