I read of many cases in the Old Testament where God had emotional episodes, and I find myself tempted to question his motives. Is that is sin, and is it punishable?

It is 10.9 font. So if you have an example of that font, then that would help a lot. But I would sort of like to know first what the NIV is like? Is it written in modern English? Anything else that would help me make my decision? I would like to know as much as possible before I buy. Those Zondervans are pretty expensive.

Not just as a Christian, but as someone who believes people all have the right to their own beliefs, I really want to know why some of you athiests or non-Christians love insulting believers. Do you consider yourself that intellectually superior ? Because really, your beliefs have no effect on how intelligent you are. I kno many smart Christians; just because we have faith in something that makes sense [to us] doesn't mean we don't understand science.

And it also seems that athiests are very intolerant on here. If a Christian acts a serious question directed specifically to other Christians, they always get answers of someone saying "God doesn't exist, duh." or "Wow you really believe that?!". & most importantly, why are you even in the Religion area of the site? If you are an athiest, YOU HAVE NO RELIGION! Christians usually don't do this to you, unless they are KINDLY spreading their belief. So spare me the anti-God lecture, I want to kno why athiests think they have this right?

I have read most of the Old Testament and taken a bible study for it and I learned that Jews didnt believe in Hell. Hell to them was losing God's love and favor. So I did some research and found out that Hell wasnt mentioned until Dante's Inferno. So where in the Bible is Hell mentioned? Any information and insight would be appreiciated.

If as most of you think we go to heaven when we die.. Then why not follow what the bible said about blood?
Acts 15:28,29:"he holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to you, except these necessary things ,to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication. If you carefully keep yourselves from these things, You will prosper. Good health to you!"

once pristine world he made.I dont get it, he made all this, and is now allowing us to destroy it,?I love nature . the animals and plants, and their being exterminated right before my eyes, the white chinese river dolphin became extinct a few weeks ago, and it seems none cares about the extinction of species, it says in the bible for us to be care takers of Gods creatures.

this is complicated but please read:Do you think it's possible to have a certain faith-of ANY type of religion, but not agree with a lot of what that religion says, so be more spiritual than relgious-not devout or radical, but still happy with your beliefs--okay, and the second part: still be a bit agnostic?
I mean, isn't being agnostic acknowledging that there's no way to prove whether a higher being exists?
So is it too farfetched to call yourself a believer of these things but also be agnostic because you know there's no way of knowing?

Please don't insult me just because I'm unsure, obviously ANYTHING is possible in one's mind, but is it too contradictory? is there anybody else out there like that?

(ps-obviously, in the above question, i have just described myself)

Why did all the people in church today raise their arms up in the air when they sang? This was a contemporary service and I was wondering if that was the reason. I was a little scared.

Lets get to the point.

Abraham - hears a voice in his head telling him that he is the messenger of God, and to kill his son.

Manson - hears a voice in his head telling him that he is the messenger of God, and to recruit and sacrifice.

Im not for Manson, Im just making an observation.

When God created adam and eve, they were perfect, yet had the capability to sin. Adam did sin by doing what God forbid. (he ate of the forbiden fruit). Adam was our federal head. his sin is counted as ours. Romans 5:12.
However, God did not leave us without hope. He sent his son to die for us, and now we can be saved from sin. Romans 5:17

Hypotheticaly speaking, even if you personaly never sin, you are still under the wrath of God because adams sin is counted as ours as well. since we have sinned, we deserve Gods wrath and curse. we have disobeyed his law.

Why should we have to keep his law? Because God made us. we are his creation. We are his.

God made us able to keep the law, but because of adams sin we are no longer able to. its not Gods fault, its ours. Praise God he left us a way out through his Son!

So why do people Q. Gods righteousness?

I recently learnt that it is inaccurate to describe Christ’s conception as Immaculate, as that refers to The Blessed Virgin's conception, i.e. conception without original sin. Do we refer to Christ’s conception as incarnation- and that's it? I sometimes here people saying something like 'who’s the father? He can't be immaculately conceived.' Isn't this the wrong word to use, as the Immaculate Conception does not mean conceived without a father, as in Jesus' case. Or am I mistaken.

Went out to lunch today, and yes, it being a Sunday, it was no surprise to me that a lot of people prayed before they ate. I noticed that some folks were a tad loud and some were silent. So do you have a special prayer for when you eat out, or is it the same you use at home, or do you mix it up a bit?
