Why do you ask such an unqualified question? You sound really ignorant, and I don't even know enough about you to make that assessment. If I were you, I would put some details in this question or take it off. I am a Jew by heredity, though by religion I am a completed Jew, in that I have accepted Yeshua bar-Yosef as the Messiah. So are you asking because you don't like Jews, or because you are trying to find a reason for the Holocaust?

despite the fact that people have tried to destroy us we have never been destroyed completely. we have always been oppressed (and maybe always will) but G-d has helped us and we have survived. Jew have not fully assimilated because of anti-semetism and this is also a small part of our survival. if we had assimilated we would loose some sense of religion and possibly loose a bit of our individuality. i think there will always be pious Jews however 'pious' has a slightly different meaning depending on where you live. in Israel a reform Jew could be compared to an American conservative Jew as far as how they act. this is because in Israel they tend to be more religious than many Americans.
i dont know if you were trying to be offencive but to some Jews this would be and you should be careful how you state your future questions.

Worst question ever. People like you make me sick. How could you hate a group of people so much you wish they were wiped off the face of the earth? What did the Jews ever do to you? Why dont you crawl back down the dank basement you came from and stay there?

In the word of Tevye the dairyman, TRADITION.
Seriously though, Judaism is a living, dynamic, adapting religion and so is the culture. There is a lot worth keeping in it, we'll continue to do so.
Ironically, anti-semitism and its accompanying restrictions have prevented Jews from fully assimilating into mainstream cultures.

They are God's chosen people. They have always been the oppressed and the hated ones, unfairly. They are not the ones that are committing suicide in the name of God believing that by killing hundreds/thousands of men, women and children that they will instantly go to heaven. How in all that is Holy can any one justify that? I am trying not to judge. It just doesn't make sense to me when I serve a LOVING God. And YOU???

Yes but keep in mind many Jews say they are Jews but they are not Jews.

Survival of the fittest--Jewish people are markedly resilient. Such is passed down through generations.
