I believe that when a soul gathers enough information as it possibly can from living lifetime after lifetime, it turns into pure energy. It only makes sense. We humans are energy, as is the earth and all of the living things that inhabit her. I think this same principle exists if the world would come to an end: souls turn into energy.
Another belief of mine is that there is no heaven or hell. No place of reward or damnation. However, there is a place where all spirits go to rest and wait for their time to be reincarnated. It could possibly be that we stay in this place until a new earth is created or evolved.
Also, take into consideration that the Hubble telescope reveled that we are not the only galaxy in space. There are, literally, millions! In saying that, I think it would be arrogant to suggest that we are the only planet with living creatures. Our souls could possibly travel to another world after ours have been destroyed.

There are many problems with the salvation-by works doctrine of reincarnation. First, there are many practical problems. For example:
1. We must ask, why does one get punished for something he or she cannot remember having done in a previous life?
2. If the purpose of karma is to rid humanity of its selfish desires, then why hasn't there been a noticeable improvement in human nature after all the millennia of reincarnations?
3. If reincarnation and the law of karma are so beneficial on a practical level, then how do advocates of this doctrine explain the immense and ever-worsening social and economic problems - including widespread poverty, starvation, disease, and horrible suffering - in India, where reincarnation has been systematically taught through out its history?
There are also many biblical problems with believing in reincarnation. For example, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 the apostle Paul states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." At death, the, the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. In keeping with this. Luke 16:19-31 tells us that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.
Further, Hebrews 9:27 assures us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Each human being LIVES ONCE as a mortal on earth, DIES ONCE, and then FACES JUDGMENT. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body.

The ending of the world is temporary like everything else in this material world. There are four yugas (Satya, Treta, Dvarpa and Kali), just like there are four seasons in a year's time. At the end of these yugas there is annihilation and then again creation. Just like between lifetimes the soul remains in a ghostly state, the same applies in between annihilation and creation. Those of us who really take advantage of our passing through this material manifestation will graduate never to return to these material manifestation where the miseries of repeated birth, disease, old age and death as well as constant anxiety and fear are present.

Prov.2:21,22"the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it.As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it"
Ps.37:29 "the righteous shall possess the land and dwell upon it for ever"
Matt.5:5 "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth"
The earth isn't going to be destroyed. The system will change after Armageddon.. We will no longer be ruled by Satan.(1John5:19)(Rev.12:7-12; 2Tim.3:1-5)

The soul goes on to the next phase in its path back to God.We hopefully will have learned something significent as individual souls and as a group by that time.We are being led in that direction whether we realize it or not.God uses the Holy Spirit as our guide back at all times.

Well, Hinduism believes at the end of every yuga, all of creation is taken back into Vishnu and will only come again at the start of a new yuga. I would guess this includes all non-enlightened souls.

There are many different worlds. If this world was to end, then the souls would simply go to another.

I believe there are many different worlds out there for us to incarnate into, that we will never run out of places to incarnate and learn. It may not be a Pysicial world we can see in our own universe but one we can go to on another level of conciousness.
I think that we are experienceing all types of different worlds with different souls and when we feel our expericnces are complete they will all combine into one entity and we will be with our Maker or God for all eternity.
