Of course, he was here on earth when Christ was here. He tempted Christ in the wilderness....remember? Jesus drove out many demons while here on earth. The Bible says in the book of Revelation 12:9, "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." It also says in Revelation 12:12, Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down to you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time."

Well, I don't exactly believe in Satan. But some of the folk who do are wandering the earth and trying to convert everyone to their cause.
Of course, they're convinced that they're batting for the other side.

Yes he's after you and me to cause us problems. He's after our soul he sometimes bring people in our life who may cause us to sin. Everyday of your life you have to call on Jesus for guidance, grace, mercy, and to help you stop the devil in his tracks against your soul.

No.
I believe this imaginary figure/force, "Satan", is used as a default for people's wrong-doings. Hence, the phrase, "...the devil made me do it..."
