this is complicated but please read:Do you think it's possible to have a certain faith-of ANY type of religion, but not agree with a lot of what that religion says, so be more spiritual than relgious-not devout or radical, but still happy with your beliefs--okay, and the second part: still be a bit agnostic?
I mean, isn't being agnostic acknowledging that there's no way to prove whether a higher being exists?
So is it too farfetched to call yourself a believer of these things but also be agnostic because you know there's no way of knowing?

Please don't insult me just because I'm unsure, obviously ANYTHING is possible in one's mind, but is it too contradictory? is there anybody else out there like that?

(ps-obviously, in the above question, i have just described myself)

Yep, it's possible. For example, I am really drawn to the teachings of Christ, but I believe the religion has been perverted extremely over the years, so I do not consider myself a "Christian". I don't agree with a LOT the church says.
I do believe there is a higher power, but I don't know what it is. So I consider my self a spiritualist. And I live very happily with my beliefs.
Brightest Blessings!

I am agnostic myself. By this I mean that, while I suspect there is some overarching sense of love and good that influences our thoughts, feelings and behavior, I am not at all certain what that is.

I have rather come to the conclusion that none of the religions I've observed and studied can claim (though they often do) that they know the right way to worship God.

The human mind is set up to believe in something. It is a biological imperative. Without belief, we would be incapable of functioning.

I once read in a book by theologian Henri Nouwen that we would do well to live in the question, rather than cling to certainty, and given that one of the names of God is "The Unknowable," living in the question seems the only sensible choice.

Well i think agnostic means that your just not sure. And so of course you can be a little agnostic while still believing in your faith. I think that any religion doesnt fit anyone 100% and so its impossible to be completely devout. Not that you arent devout just not 100%.

well it's totally possible for somebody to be say a christian but end up as an agnostic it's like you are going through the motions to please your parents or somebody but you have your doubts hell i was a catholic and protestant christian but i always had my doubts as well anyway it's totally possible to believe in a higher being or higher power but not know exactly what or who it is as it would make you an agnostic theist or agnostic deist and you might not believe in certain religions so yes it's totally possible

Being agnostic is saying that you don't care whether supernatural beings and unnatural eternal life exist. It's a perfectly respectable view on the matter.

Israel felt this way about not being quite sure and wanting to believe what they wanted to believe and Joshua shouted to Israel

'CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY ISRAEL
WHO YOU WILL SERVE
EITHER GOD OR MAN.

There are only two religions - God's and Man's

God's religion or God's will is written in the Holy Bible - I prefer
King James Version.

In God's Word you will read more than once that God says we are without excuse when it comes to believing in Him. When you pick up the Bible you are picking up one of the most contested books in the entire world. But God's Book has withstood the test of time. He said His word would not return to Him void. He said His word could not be broken. He said no change would be made to His word, but it would all be fulfilled. God protects His Holy Bible and do not listen to the mockers.
