Dear Owly: I'm a spiritually oriented person. My answers may not exactly fit "Bible study," but, I would like to present what I have learned of "sin" through my own 21 years of spiritual study:

First, we do not need to be forgiven in our Creator's "eyes." He is an expansive-ness and has Created more of Himself. He is pure Knowledge and contains the Intelligence of Purpose. Although He Knows of the All (All things), He holds His Thoughts as if in an order of Higher or Lower thoughts. His decision to Create more of Himself is the source of our Perfection. While He knows of the physical, He Created more spirit-mind,or souls, and is Confident of the goodness and purity of His Creations. Spirit has NO judgment mechanism - the Human Intellect does ; but it is needed to navigate through a physical world. Does God forgive us? He never judged. . .to start with.

This physical experience we are having produces an "infinity " of situational hazards ! The physical experience is based on opposite aspects of what God's world is, and what His Children experience IN His Reality : God knows us in an abstract manner. Although He Creates each individually, and we have autonomous thinking (along with receiving all His Thought through our spirit or soul) He thinks upon us as "One." Equal in our same-ness. He feels and pulses through our spirit-mind HIS thoughts of Boundlessness, Unlimitedness, lack of Opposition, and His Ecstasy of His ever expanding Creation.

Humans experiencing physical life have an Intellect that focuses on Individuality, Boundaries, Limits, Opposition and Competition , and Self Interest. There are many conclusions to arrive at regarding this. . .. Many things to learn from this experience.

This physical situation required Guidance, Comforting, and Teaching. Our Creator's plan encompassed those elements in a gentle, subtle form that did not interfere with our chosen experiences, or Free Will. The Creation of a Holy Spirit resident within our soul or spirit-mind, yet able to make Himself HEARD as a Conscience, Guide and Comforter (by instilling within us His Thoughts that become OUR intuitive thinking or inspired thinking) is in charge of what we call "sin." He hears our thought process within our intellect, and understands "error." He looks upon "sin" as error in thinking : Wrong conclusions, wrong perceptions, leading to wrong desires and actions . The Holy Spirit knows these things must be worked out at the level of mind - not attacking the symptom of our thinking, but rather correcting the error of the thought process that produced the symptom. This requires a partnership with a Teacher : The Holy Spirit and His chosen Teacher, for us. He works with Jesus. When invited, Jesus teaches us, also, within our minds. He is more tangible to us in many ways. He makes his thoughts and voice easily heard within. He Teaches. This is how error is corrected and our thought process lifted to a higher level of thinking. We do "guilty" things. But, God knows our Innocence. The Holy Spirit that God provided and His Teacher handle our confusions; sometimes our misuse of power. Mankind punishes offending acts. Jesus and the Holy Spirit do not. They teach and guide and wash away guilts through showing us a more clean and clear perception of our acts. The "why" of our act. They lead us to higher conclusions ; sometimes by setting up a consequence designed to teach us; never intended as a human "punishment," but rather as a teaching device, if we will only pay attention. So, they see what humans call "sin" as "error." This is how we translate "forgiven," in human terms, into "that which is looked past. . .while being taught something different. "

Those in Bible study will never "forgive" me for this ! I know!! Yet, it is offered as an insight that Jesus has taught me - that makes the love of God Known.

Sincerely, Lana

I want to thank you for asking this question...God bless you!! Sin is really the act of disobeying God. I am a Christian, and I believe that how you can be forgiven of that sin is really easy. I believe that the only way that you can be forgiven of your sins is through the blood of Jesus Christ. In the Bible, the book of John says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) I believe that if you believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and accept him into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior to rule over your life and ask him to forgive you of your sins then you will be forgiven and have eternal life with him. I hope that this answers your question, and if you want to talk more about this, PLEASE comment me! Thank you and God bless you!!

The Bible clearly identifies our serious problem in sin. Sin is not just an act but the actual nature of our being. In other words, we are not sinners because we sin. Rather, we sin because we are sinners! We are born with a nature to do wrong. King David, from the Old Testament Israelite ruler wrote "For I was born a sinner--yes, from the moment my mother conceived me" song 51:5 because we are born sinners sinning and comes to all of us naturally. That is why it is futile to think that the answer to all of our life's problems comes from within. According to the Bible the problem is with them Scripture tells us "the human heart is most deceitful and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is Jeremias 17:9.

Yes we do need to be forgiven. You know Jesus Christ personally and have your sins forgiven, you must believe that you are a sinner separated from God and that your only hope is Jesus Christ, the son of God, who came and died for your sins. To stop here however, would be to stop short of salvation there are two things you must do now to enter into a relationship with the God from whom you have been separated. One turn from your sins to believe in Jesus Christ and receive him into your life. There is a Bible called the The New Believers Bible. New living translation. The

"It is both a condition of the heart/mind/will/affections and the practical outworking of that condition in thoughts, words, and deeds that offend God transgress His holy law."
(Isa. 29:13 , Jer.17:9,Gen.6:5, & Isa.59:12-13)

Yes,we do need be forgiven.

The conditions for normal forgiveness are repentance and the willingness to make atonement.

However, since Jesus died for our sins He atoned for them and all we have to do is ask for forgiveness and to repent and through His grace we are pardoned. This is how we are granted eternal Salvation.("For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16)

The concept of sin is, at its most basic, a transgression of religious or divine law. Disobedience to god can be either deliberate or accidental. Augustine defined sin in Christianity as “any word or deed or thought against the eternal law,” making it essentially a religious or theological category. In Christianity, sin may usually overlap moral categories, but some sins do not — for example, idolatry.

Sin is a term used mainly in a religious context to describe an act that violates a moral rule or the state of having committed such a violation. In monotheistic religions, the code of conduct is determined by God. Colloquially, any thought, word, or act considered immoral, shameful, harmful, or alienative might be termed "sinful".

Common ideas surrounding sin in various religions include:

Punishment for sins, either from other people, from God either in life or an afterlife, or from the Universe in general.
The question of whether or not an act must be intentional to be sinful.
The idea that one's conscience should produce guilt for a knowing sin.
A scheme for determining the seriousness of the sin.
Repentance from (expressing regret for and determining not to commit) sin, and atonement (repayment) for past deeds.
The possibility of forgiveness of sins, often through communication with a deity or intermediary; in Christianity often referred to as salvation.Man must know good and evil, not as a philosophical discussion, but as experienced conditions of human life.
He must know these aberrations from divine order to be such, namely, transgressions against divine order, not merely against human order and discipline. A child, therefore, who has a very limited understanding of this order and its Author, can hardly be said to be able to sin. A child can do evil, but cannot sin.
Sin requires a conscious, willful, intentional breaking of a commandment, and this against God—against the highest authority man knows.

Sin is simply thinking or doing that which one knows is wrong according to ones belief system. We are all taught right and wrong by our parents and others who rear us as we grow from childhood into adulthood then when we reach adulthood, we form our own ideas from those morals we are taught and make our own choices and decisions. When I read in the Bible, I found the definition in the book of Proverbs, chapter 24 it states that the thought of foolishness is sin. Another reference from the Bible states that to know good and to do it not is sin. So from that I find the answers you seek. The Bible also states that sin is forgiven when you tell God about the sin and ask Him to forgive you for the wrong you did. In the book of Romans, chapter 3 verse 23, the Bible states that everybody sins, therefore coming short of the wonderful things He has to offer us when we do that which He teaches us are the right things to do. Simply admitting your sin to God, asking Him to walk with you and guide you through this life and save you from the evil traps encountered in life and then helping others with questions like yours find the answers God has given to us all makes sense to me that we do need to be forgiven when we feel we have done wrong in order to feel "right" again. Or else we tend to hide from talking to God or others who might seem "better " than us because we've seen them do no wrong. Just the same as one can't learn if he doesn't study in school, one can't learn if he doesn't study in life either. Read the Bible, search it, memorize it, find a church that is concerned with helping others know of Jesus's teachings and get involved there learning about how to find out what God has for us to do for Him in the lives we lead. No one is without mistake or "sin" and we feel ashamed when we've done something bad so by asking to be forgiven, we feel better, we get forgiven to start over with a clean slate. God will forgive EVERY time you ask Him. I hope you will find His light in your life and then you will know the peace that surpasses all understanding! God, please guide this person I am trying to help with my inadequate words and draw him into your wonderful salvation, Amen.

Peace be with you.

Know ye the Word of God, Jesus gave 75 Commandments of "the Way" to heaven. If ye hear his words again shall you be one of his disciples, asked the blind man.

Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand, If thou forgive those who trespass against you, your Father in heaven, will also forgive you of your trespasses, but if you forgive not, neither will your Father forgive you.

Sin is to go against the Word of God and the Commandments as told to you in the 4 Gospels, There are 75 of them.
For the Laws where given by Moses, but TRUTH and grace came by Jesus Christ.

Sinai means "of sin"

sinning is going against the will of God,you will feel guilty ,convicted in your soul/we need to be forgiven but to many of us wont forgive ourself /once we repent(say your sorry)to God He will forgive you as though it never happened we continue to feel guilty but must remember if Jesus could and did go through what He did for us if He can forgive us we should be able to forgive ourself
