If "God" chose your Christian town as his "special people," and commanded you to go to a neighboring town of Atheists and rip their little ones to pieces before their eyes, then thrust threw every man, woman, child, and goat, would you do it? What if he told you to keep all the virgins for yourselves as sex slaves? That is what he asked of his "chosen people" in the Old Testament, and they complied! Would you?

All scientific laws are ultimately imagination and they are valid only under certain conditions.

Catholics are devout. Protestants staunch. Methodists strict. Atheists confirmed. Agnostics unconvinced. Buddhists enlightened. Are all right, wrong or simply confused ?

I keep hearing people on here saying that believing in God is primitive. Well how is believing that we came from monkeys and tadpoles not primitive. I think it's a little silly to call something primitive that you don't understand, Intellegent Design is just as viable and believable as evolution if not more believable. I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone, but that's the way I feel. I would like to hear everyone's opinion even if you are angry with me. Thanks.

The Akkadians were the first people to mention a story about a 'great flood'....how is that possible if Noah and his family were the only ones to survive???

can't wait to hear these delusional and illogical answers.

from wikipedia:
"The story of a Great Flood sent by a deity or deities to destroy civilization as an act of divine retribution is a widespread theme in Greek and many other cultural myths. The stories of Noah and the ark in Genesis, Matsya in the Hindu Puranas, Deucalion in Greek mythology and Utnapishtim in the Epic of Gilgamesh are among the most familiar versions of these myths"

MYTHS. HAHAHAHAHHA

I am in this club called Project C.R.O.S.S. The other day we were talking about how we should forgive everyone for everything that they have wrongfully done to us because Jesus forgives us. Then a 14 or 15 year old girl asked " How can I forgive my mom for letting guys rape me when I was 3 years old, just so she could get some drug money?" How do you respong to something like that. What should I have told her?

...irrespective of whether there's a God or not? If the world remains as it is, and there happened to be no God, and despite all the suffering that as humans we endure, isn't there always something or somebody to be found, no matter how seemingly insignificant, to put a smile on your face? Okay so we're doomed to get miserable as the species we are, but without the misery, there wouldn't be the happy. So yey for being human! Who cares what we all believe when we all have that one unique amazing experience in common, right?

What's the difference between a mythical/fictional creature and a 'real' spiritual being?

For example: If i met Mickey Mouse or Homer Simpson on the astral plane would he be just as real as a demon, angel or fairy?

Who created demons etc. anyway, werent they created the same way Micky or Homer was? Didn't us humans create them with our beliefs, or did they come into being the same way we did?

What did you think of it? Personally I'm an atheist but I think it's awesome to read. It's interesting to read about all the punishments of hell and who is down there and for what reasons.

Prov 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. and also in IS 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: IS 45:6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. IS 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

If Jesus is the only way to salvation, what about the countless number of people who never knew anything about the name or concept of Christ? I am referring to the people of the world who lived during the approximately 8000 years of our history that preceeded the birth of Christ some 2000 years ago. Or also the native peoples indigenous to the Americas who never knew the name Christ until roughly 500 years back when the white man arrived and massacred them in the name of Christ. Am I to believe that this overwhelmingly large number of people never had even the slightest chance of attaining salvation or enlightenment, no possibility to achieve and earn some sort of heavenly afterlife or spiritual rest? That seems pretty unfair to me.

and deep in their soul know that there is a God. Weather they admit it or not, I also think that while we are alive a HOPE is always there that at least at the last minute we can be saved. We are optomistic as long as we are alive but, as soon as we die we are faced with the certainty that our hope is gone forever because we missed our chance to turn to God. My question is, could this be some of the eternal torment? The realization that hope even is gone?

When Hitler had "chosen people," the Aryans, and ordered mass genocide we all agree that was evil. Yet, when Jehovah (the "God" of the OT) has "chosen people," the Israelites, and orders mass genocide, some people see that as a good thing. What makes one evil and one good? Simply because "God" is the perp in the one?
