In 1 Timothy 15, it says that "women will be saved through childbearing..." Does that mean that women have to have babies?? I don't really get this passage. Pull out your Bible and read 1Timothy 11-15 to get the whole thing in context before you answer, otherwise you won't know what I'm talking about, trust me. Is this just Paul's opinion, or was this inspired by God?

Everywhere we look there is suffering, I don't understand how anyone can even think that there can be a loving benevolent God watching over everyone. First, take natural disasters, say the tsunami, it killed so many people, many of them innocent from all different religions, how can anyone just that? Secondly, any kind of birth defect; where the child is given a screwed up life from the very start sorta points to that God (if he exists) is a sadistic force as he dooms them to a life of pain and suffering.

Paul was well educated in scripture and he was deceived by the priests, ministers and Pharisees of his time. why couldn't you be assuming to much?
try and keep your pride in check (1 John 2:16)

Christian teaching, fulfilling the prophecy that religious leaders would "make the Word of God of none effect through their tradition" (Mark 7:13; 2 Tim. 4:3).

Trinity
The doctrine is one of confusion, because it is drawn not from the Bible, but from pagan mythology. One edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica states:

"The propositions constitutive of the dogma of the Trinity were not drawn directly from the New Testament, and could not be expressed in New Testament terms. They were the products of reason speculating on a revelation to faith ... They were only formed through centuries of effort, only elaborated by the aid of the conceptions and formulated in the terms of Greek and Roman metaphysics."

If we get to Hell and find that it truly is a "lake of fire", won't we simply get used to it after awhile, thus eventually making it quite routine?

I know it might sound like a contradiction of terms, but there are some out there.

Which brings me to my question...

Exactly what does being a spiritual atheist mean? Does it mean that, while you don't believe in a higher power of any kind, you still believe that there are some supernatural phenomena out there that are beyond our comprehension?

I've heard this term before, and it seems that this is what it means. Does anyone have any further insights to this? Also, if you are a spiritual atheist, what exactly do you believe?

The Old Testament calls Jehovah a man of war. Is it any coincidence then that it is the three spawns of Jehovah that are warring in the Middle East right now? Who is Jehovah really?

Some Christians claim that non-Christians are being deceived by Satan. How can Christians be so sure they are not the ones being deceived by Satan? The Old Testament throws into question the nature of the deity being described. Some say that Satan went so far as to plant evidence that seems to contradict the Bible, so why is it that Satan couldn't have planted evidence that supports the Bible to trick people into worshiping him?

okay 1. why do christians see agnostics and atheists as the same thing? 2.Why do they hate us? I mean at school everyone is like always talking from a christian point of view when there are agnostic and atheist students.....i get sick of hearing teachers tell me Im such a bad person because im agnostic. I try to explain things to them but they just say "you're all the same" (I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY THAT) and I'm jsut sick of teachers always down my back because of religion. As you can tell I'm getting frustrated. Any suggestions?

The reason Christians (again, if you are one that doesn't, bless you, you are cool because you probably already know this) argue that being gay is a sin, is because they feel it is a choice, something people have power over.

You have to realize that by saying that you are making huge judgement, which is not your place according to Jesus. There is good evidence that gay people are born that way. Just as you would not judge a schizophrenic person's actions you should not judge a gay person. I am not saying (as was previously believed by the AMA to be so, then shown to be false) that being gay is a mental disorder, but it is something they can't help. Not if they are to be true to themselves. So it isn't a choice.

Therefor, if there is any doubt it isn't a choice, for you to say it is a choice is being very judgemental. Why don't you leave that up to God? It is certainly not anyones place to tell another how they may live. Doesn't Christianity say we will all answer to God someday?

Since Jesus's alleged virgin birth, his heretical ministry, his performed miracles all leading ultimately to his condemnation, crucifiction, and glorious resurrection were predestined by God's plan for him, why then the venomous antisemitism which has evolved (as exemplified recently in the behavior of Mel Gibson, for instance) when, in fact, the Jewish leaders, the Romans, even Pontius Pilate, had no free will in the affair and were only playing their designated roles in the requisite scenario preordained by God?? Why should blame of any kind be assigned to those who were only doing their duties as demanded of them by God? Very likely there would be no Christianity had not Christ been the martyr for the cause (as the story is told...). Yes??
