sounds like a teenager in the house
I agree it can be the rebellion against authority
but authority has to be there for them to live
at 12 - my dad knew everything
at 16 - my dad knew nothing
at 21 - conceed that my dad had a few good ideas
at 25 - may be the old man hasn't lost his marbles
at 30 - Dad I need your wisdom on this matter with my family
at 40 - gee Dad, I wish you were here to talk to
my 31 yr old is my joy # 1 son (and he is adopted - never sees his birth father)
when 16, I got many grey hairs, but it was worth the love
now, my 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter was asked =
are you daddy's girl or mommy's girl ?
she thought for 2 seconds - "I am Papa's precious!"
WOW - was it worht it!
thank you, God, for answered prayers!

For the girls.....it's because they feel that you are over protected of them, that you just trying to butt in their life, that you don't know them(their deep inside feelings) or you just don't trust them enough do things they would like to do. I use to be like that .It's a cycle. They tend to do things if you don't let them get their way, but you do have to stand your grounds even as a parent(s). You want to be their friend in need, but you also want them to know that you are the parent(s). They will eventually appreciate you more(only if you take the time to LISTEN). And for the boys basically it's all the same except that they feel that parents don't give them enough space or power to prove or to become a young man/man. There is no difference between them. Just keep your heart and ears open. I hope this settles your thought!!
Best Wishes,

Oh, and I thought this was going to be a proper question.
That means we have been in the "last days" for the past several thousand years. Is this another "day" in the sense that the "day" in genesis was, like maybe a million years - so like evolution could have happened and like that means the bible must be true.

The guys who wrote the Bible saw the same things that you do.
It's a phase of adolescence where kids yearn to establish their independence and the most common way is to defy their same sex parent.

I think it's because mother nuture their little man and fathers protect their little girls. Moms are tougher on girls because they wanted them to be an image of themselves. And the same is true for fathers and sons. So each parent pushes their same gender child to strive hard to be more like them. It creates resentment. How's that?

The bible just states things that have been going on for centuries, nothing special to it. It's just part of life.
