Everywhere we look there is suffering, I don't understand how anyone can even think that there can be a loving benevolent God watching over everyone. First, take natural disasters, say the tsunami, it killed so many people, many of them innocent from all different religions, how can anyone just that? Secondly, any kind of birth defect; where the child is given a screwed up life from the very start sorta points to that God (if he exists) is a sadistic force as he dooms them to a life of pain and suffering.

And for those that say it's satan's fault: is god unwilling or unable to stop satan? And didn't he make satan in the first place?

That is such a good question. I get the feeling that you don't want any real answers, though; just answers that will agree with you. In any case, you are right to wonder this. I believe that almost all of the suffering in the world comes from humans. Even natural disasters can happen because of us! (humans cause global warming, which can cause a whole miriad of natural disasters). As for birth defects and such, I can only guess that God allows these things to happen for a reason. Please try to find comfort in the fact that no matter how many bad things you witness in this life, the next life will be perfect and without suffering.

As far as natural disasters, it's called the weather. It's horrifying when people lose their lives so suddenly, but you can't blame the weather on God. If those same hurricanes had hit an uninhabited island, no one would care because there would be no loss of life.

In our imperfect world, even our biology is messed up. People are born with birth defects because of genetics, sometimes because their mother was on drugs, or had a bad accident. However, their lives are just as important and equal in dignity to the rest of us. They are no less human than you or I. We all have defects when you think about it. Sometimes its physical, sometimes emotion, psychological, sometimes all of it. It's the world we live in.

Thankfully, this world is only temporary. We wait with eager hearts for our day with God, when we will finally be with Him forever, free from all the pain and suffering of this life. On that blessed day, all will be made new.

God bless.

Are you a loving person? I'll bet you are; it shows in your concern over the suffering of mankind. Let's say as a loving person, you are upset over that child with the birth defect. Did YOU cause that birth defect? NO! Does it pain you that that child suffers? YES! Will you change that suffering when the time is right if you can? OF COURSE!
And there you have God, sweetheart. HE didn't cause all the pain and suffering among the world today.. MANKIND did it with disobedience. It hurts God, too, that there is so much pain and hurt going on. And He promises that He will change all that when the time is right for Him to do so... and we as imperfect humans, cannot judge for God when that time IS. He says He does not want anyone to be lost... so he is giving us lots of time to get things correct. His idea of time and ours is SO vastly different, with God being infinite and us as humans being finite, that we cannot decide for God when the time for His plans to change things happens.

At the present moment in this age the entire human society is inclined to eat meat and fish, drink liquor and indulge in sex. About eighty percent of the people are sinful. God says; "don't do it," and we do it, "don't commit abortion" , and we do it, "don't kill" and we kill millions of poor innocent animals just for the satisfaction of the tongue. And when the laws of nature punishes us, we ask God , "Why?"
The law of nature must work severely. It doesn't matter whether you forget or you do not know the law, is no excuse. You must suffer. Just like the child when he touches the fire, the fire does not consider, "Oh here is an innocent child, why should I burn him?" He must be burned. That is law of karma. When you touch fire it must act and you must suffer. We disobey God, and we have to be punished, in order to be corrected.
The nature is working under the direction of the supreme father. So if you do not care for your father, then the result will be that laws of nature will punish us.

Everyone who lives dies. It is a fact of life. One day you will die and one day, so will I. I don't dwell on it much, but I try to live everyday of my life to the fullest and I try to help others live their lives that way too. The last thing you want to do on your deathbed is to have regrets.

The truth is that there is no God. He is an imaginary freind that makes adults feel safe from the cold and cruel world. He was dreamed up by some ancient people who could not understand why things like hurricaines, disease and earthquakes happen so they believed that they must have pissed someone off. So in an effort to not do it again, they've tried time after time to please this imaginary freind... 2000 years later, voila, you have organized religion.

God is not causing the suffering, mankind is. Yes there are natural forces that cause harm to humans but by far the majority of suffering is man made. Lets face it this planet would be a far better place without humans and the way we are going led by gods own nation, the US, it wont belong before humanity is no more

God is not a being that thinks and acts. God symbolizes peace and love. It does not act upon itself, stop using god as a scapegoat. It is up to humans to make the world a better place. Even if god came and fixed everything it would only take a matter of time before we ruined the world again. Its up to us to fix the world.

It is called free will. All humans were given free will weither you believe by God or other Deities. There for what we do and what we say have consequences that have nothing to do with God. In having free will we are free of control from any God, Goddess or Deity no matter what faith you are. The Christian church and other faiths will have you believe otherwise in order to control money, population and other facets of our lives.
As for natural disasters, they are natural. There is no way to control them.

there is suffering in the world because man has free will to do as he wants, which god never intervenes in. life was never meant to be without suffering, or hurts. god doesn't cause any of this, and doesn't stop it either.
