In 1 Timothy 15, it says that "women will be saved through childbearing..." Does that mean that women have to have babies?? I don't really get this passage. Pull out your Bible and read 1Timothy 11-15 to get the whole thing in context before you answer, otherwise you won't know what I'm talking about, trust me. Is this just Paul's opinion, or was this inspired by God?

There are only EIGHT chapters in 1 Timothy. There is NO chapter FIFTEEN. I didn't even have to look in my Bible to know YOU are mistaken. The verse you want is in 1 Timothy chapter TWO, not 15 actually starting with verse 9 to get the whole gist of it..
To explain: There are several ways to understand the phrase. (1) Women sinned and so women were condemned to pain in childbearing. Both men and women, however, can be saved through trusting Christ and obeying him. (2) Women who fulfill their God-given roles are demonstrating true commitment and obedience to Christ. One of the most important roles for a wife and mother is to care for her family. (3) The childbearing mentioned here refers to the birth of Jesus Christ. Women (and men) are saved spiritually because of that most important birth, that of Christ Himself. (4) From lessons learned through the trials of childbearing, women can develop qualities that teach them about love, trust, submission and service. I could go on and on, since this subject is one that can become intense.
I hope this helps you understand that verse.
I have been a Bible teacher since 1988. That is my qualification to answer you in the way I did.
Study and show yourself approved for an approved workman is not ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15).
Blessings on you. Numbers 6:24-26

There is no 1 Timothy 15. 1 Timothy only has 6 chapters.

If you are talking about 1 Timothy 2:11-15, then -

It may make more sense to read it like this:
"As long as women perform their role as wives and mothers in faith and love, their salvation is assured"

As opposed to the actions of EVE.

If you are serious about this, then you have to understand WHY God created the first woman.

To prevent any confusion, the actual passage is I Timothy 2:15.
This verse certainly does NOT teach that women must have children to be saved. It merely is a promise that if a woman is godly she shall find special favor with God to preserve her life if and when she should bear children. ALL scripture, though written by man, is "inspired" or "God-Breathed" through that writer. This was not merely the Apostle's opinion, but another of God's many benefits.

But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
—1 Timothy 2:15, NIV

This doesn’t seem to be the sense of the passage. First of all, that’s not what we think of when the topic is childbirth. Second, if that’s what Paul meant, then it would apply equally to men, and he left them out. Paul normally lists all the groups to whom his principles apply—we constantly hear him say, “Jew and Greek, male and female, slave and free” so it would be odd for him to leave the men out. Third, it’s very unlikely Paul would mean this, because Paul does not hold that we are saved by Jesus’ birth in any other passage. He says we are saved by His death and resurrection. Paul preached the cross, not the manger. No one in the apostolic or patristic times ever preached that we are saved by Jesus’ birth—in fact, Jesus’ birth was not celebrated by Christians until the fourth century.
We can rule this one out for two reasons. First, Paul preaches that salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ, but this interpretation would have him preach salvation by works for women in this passage and only in this passage. Second, Paul preaches that the way of salvation is the same for everyone—to put it in his words again, “Jew and Greek, male and female, slave and free,” but men cannot give birth. If we interpret something Paul wrote as saying that some people are saved a different way from everyone else, we have misunderstood Paul. So for these two reasons, I think we can safely rule out this interpretation.

God Bless You

From what I understand, the passage is talking about living ones life with simplicity and devotion to God. We should not focus on adorning ourselves with anything that could pull us away from God, be it riches, position, status, possessions, relationships, etc. For women, the simplest and most natural thing is motherhood. It is a blessing given to all women that teaches them so much, just as fatherhood is the simplest and most natural thing for men. I read chapter 2: 1-15.

I think there might a bit of clumsiness in translating from the original text. Those scriptures are referring to women's place in the hierarchy of the church. That women need not put in places of authority but to find a place that is more in keeping with mothering and child rearing.
I would keep in mind the context of time too. Women, at that time, were considered "property" and to put any women (or property) in a place of authority whether it be ownership of a business or politics or in the church was considered lunacy.

This is about as harmonious with Jesus emphasis of loving one another as I can get. I could be so wrong. One would need to look at the original text of ancient Greek.

They are talking about women being idle and becoming gossips and busybodies. Women will be saved through childbearing means that by having children they will be busy and not have time for gossiping. Women today are busy and do not have to raise children to avoid being idle.
For those who say the Bible is outdated don't read it enough to know it is very up to date.

In part yes, but not simply having babies. Raising Children, Nurturing them in The Knowledge of The LORD. That is why it says for the older Women to Teach the younger Women to be obedient Wives, and Good Mothers.

From the Amplified Bible -

15Nevertheless [the sentence put upon women of pain in motherhood does not hinder their souls' salvation, and] they will be saved [eternally] if they continue in faith and love and holiness with self-control, [saved indeed] [a]through the Childbearing or by the birth of the divine Child.

9I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

11A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15But women[a] will be saved[b] through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

for one you need to read the entire chapter to put it in the proper perspective, the idea here is about worshipping God, and to do this in total submission, God told eve that after her committance of the original sin that she would experience birth pains, go back and check the story in Genesis, scripture interprets scripture and Paul knowing this made reference to what God had warned eve about. a womans place is to be submissive first to God and secondly to her husband.
