I know that the Hisidick Jews have beards & wear hats but do they believe anything different than the conservative or other Jewish people? Like Catholics are not supposed to eat on Friday but I know several Catholics that do, are the Hisidick Jews the ones that will never have pork?

How is this different from the "promise" of Christianity?

Isn't questioning what it is all about and not assuming?
Didn't all the apostils question Christ?
Isn't asking questions how you find out what is true?
this next bit is for the christians
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Note "evidence of things"
would that mean that you should way up the evidence and then decide? or say i have believed this all my life so it must be true?

Don't get into the mental issues in this thread, because a large percentage of those who commit suicide are clinically depressed. I"m just a little curious about people's stance on what constitutes suicide. If one dies from smoking, after developing lung cancer, how is this different from one who overdoses on drugs. Both people are doing something to help them cope, and both activities, usually after prolonged use, killed them.

Usually, drug overdose is not a direct suicide method, but an accidental occurrence. How can this be separated from people giving themselves a disease through smoking? It amazes me that so many people who condemn suicide victims are smokers, and some will develop a life threatening disease. Furthering on this, many of those who overdose on drugs are indeed suffering from clinical depression, while the majority of those who smoke are just dealing with every day problems.

If Muslims, Athiest and others attack Paul should thay not also attack Moses in as he told of God's entire plan for mankind in Genesis. Could Paul go back 1500 years before his birth to corrupt the book of Moses? Moses told the story of creation and said let us create man in our image. He told how that creation was body and spirit and the two became a living soul. doesn't this sound like trinity doctrine? He also told of the tree of knowledge and the tree of life...Is this not the law and the grace provided by the atonement? If the law kills us as God himslef said what did this tree of life represent?

I read that in Iran they are waiting for a Messiah that will come when they have created enough chaos and problems in the world, and by creating chaos they will bring the Messiah sooner. Do all Muslims believe in this or only the ones in Iran??
Is this in the Koran??

To have have your sins forgiven by God and turn away from everything you know to be wrong, is the best thing. I speak from experience. I have been a Christian now for 37 years, and although things have not been easy for a lot of the time, I have had the strength and help to stand in time of trouble. I have a hope and a future, a fulfilled life here on earth, and a promise of a home in Heaven. Would you like to have the assurance of this too?

Double-bind: Instructions that include two messages that are emotionally contradictory.

Christian Double-Binds: "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Mat. 5:48)

And

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." (Mat. 22:37)

Combined with:

"But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." (Luke 12:5)

We are told to be perfect and love God completely, but fear that God will torture us if we do not.

Is this an emotional set-up?
What if you fear but do not love?
What does it mean when Christians preach fear of Hell?
If Hitler commanded you to love him in order to escape the gas chamber, could you?
How is this not a similar injunction?

Let's hear all of the great Bible verses! What are your favorites??

Here is a good one for all of the Christians who are asking and answering questions on this forum: " Bless those who persecute you. Don't curse them; pray that God will bless them." Romans 12:14.

Remember that as you ask and answer! God bless!
