I like Luke 10:25-37, where Jesus talks about the greatest commandment, and then tells the parable of the merciful Samaritan:

"25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. 28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. 29But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? 30And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. 33But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, 34And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. 36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? 37And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise."

Great question!

I have 2 the first is James 4:8 Draw close to God and he will draw close to you. and the Second is Psalms 37: 28-29 For Jehovah is a lover of justice. And he will not leave his loyal ones. To time indefinite they will certainly be guarded. But as for the offspring of the wicked ones, they will indeed be cut off. The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will reside forever upon it.

The ever-lovable John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that He gave His own begotten Son so that whomever believes in Him shall not perish but have ever-lasting life."

Also 2 Timothy 2:1-4 "You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may also please him who enlisted him as soldier."

Here's my favorite verse in the bible:

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

NOTE: I can't believe I have so many thumbs down. Aside from the sentence "Here's my favorite Bible verse:" I just put in a direct quote from the Bible. I'm guessing the thumbs down means people responding don't like the Bible?

i have a lot of favorite scriptures. The one that sticks out most in my mind today is the famous St. John 3:16- For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that WHOSOEVER (that means you and me) believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life!. How do I know? Simply because I'm a believer. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.
Jeremiah 1 v 5

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should persih but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3 v 9.

Judge not lest ye be judged.
I have a very firm stand on that.
That's just as bad as speculation.
Speculation is a human characteristic flaw.

1 Cor: 13

Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other peoples sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you.
He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with His love He will rejoice over you with singing.

I sing in whatever key I can make up. If God is singing over me, what difference does it make what I sound like?
