That's a very heavy question. And I'm probably not going to be answering it the way you intend. My answer is that according to what I've been taught, there are no "degrees" of sin. Sin is Sin and God hates all sin equally. Therefore, whether you've been forgiven for something humans consider "minor" such as lying or "major" such as murder, the gift of forgiveness you've received is the same. It's a sin forgiven and forever forgotten by our Father. However, I also remember the parable about the servants who were forgiven various amounts of debt. Naturally, the one who owes the most is the most relieved when the debt is absolved. "He who is forgiven much, loves much"

The most serious sin according to HUMANS? MOST humans probably wouldn't forgive it. According to God, all sins are equal as they fall short of God's expectations. Even the THOUGHT of doing wrong is the same as doing it. All the sins I've asked forgiveness for have been forgiven and as far as God is concerned, they never happened.

Like others you believe that there are degrees of sin. That is not true, either you commit a sin or you commit an abomination such as homosexuality. There is no big sin or little sin, sin is sin. There are no degrees of sin which is why God will judge all justly.

All sins are the same, no matter how big or small you think they are, they are all treated equally in god's book, so the most serious sin i have committed would be all my sins.

It is where I was sinning with the belief that God gave me the right to sin just because he made me with a sinfull nature.

When I woke up and realize that I was the greatest sinner - repent - ask God to forgive my manifold sins - and ask Christ to come into my heart (Christ gives us new heart where the Holy resides).

Holy Spirit keeps us straight on the paths of Christlikeness.

The one I whispered in tear-laden voice in the darkness of the confessional, and for which I received absolution from my Savior's servant. The one from which I was forever freed, and the one I never did again, and when I was divested of that ugliness, I was free to once again join in the communion that makes us all one. One spirit, one song, one word.
