Still disobeyed him? I mean Think about it..Adam and Eve Knew (if they even were real) that god was real....they knew that he created them...so then why the heck would they do what they did....Then moses spends so much of his time rescuing the Jews....talking to god...yet one simple little request from god...he disobeys and can't even get into the promised land. I mean God hasn't shown himself for almost 2000 years so how can we know that these stories are even credible...the characters in the bible didn't seem to believe in God enough to pay attention to what he had to say? Does this confuse anyone else?

Nihilism doesn't mean I don't care about anything. That would be apathy.

God & Satan had a little bet going on over Job.

What if Satan was a smart cookie and said he bets people are dumb enough to follow anybody if it says so in a book.

God took the bet.

Satan wrote the New Testament......

***I’m aiming this question at the conservative branches of Christianity but the character limit made wording the question difficult.***

Do you find it disturbing that during the 20th and 21st century conservative Christianity has contributed almost zero to the intellectual development of the human race?

Your scientific ideas concerning origins of the universe and life are taken seriously in any sector of science.

Christian universities are largely considered sub-nominal in academic pursuits. The outstanding seminaries do not even give much credence to your ideas.

While Barth, Whitehead, Bultmann and other theologians and philosophers were developing new lines of thinking in theology and epistemology your sector remained stagnant and silent. Conservatives did even bother to engage the new thought. You can’t even claim C.S. Lewis since his concept of Hell being locked from the inside is hardly inline with conservative thought.

Do you have anything to say about this?

Do you feel that certain attempts to link your religion with aspects of science cheapen your beliefs in a way. I am referring to people like Kent Hovind who are trying to rewrite science to fit religious beliefs.
IE dinosaurs and humans coexisting, Grand Canyon formed by Noah's flood, etc.

Do you feel that these attempts to give spiritual things a tangible aspect take away from your respective beliefs rather than add to them?

Do Taoists use Malas(meditation beads) for meditation like the Buddhists do or not. I've read that the mala is a pretty generic form of meditation beads so more than one religion uses them, do Taoists?

If so, isn't that a little hypocritical? I mean, you don't worship the pagan gods after whom the days of the week are named, do you?

How about "January"? Celebrating the Roman gods much?

[Insert sarcasm here]
