If so, isn't that a little hypocritical? I mean, you don't worship the pagan gods after whom the days of the week are named, do you?

How about "January"? Celebrating the Roman gods much?

[Insert sarcasm here]

Jimmy, I would have said CHRISTIANS, but the real point was humor and I think that point would have been lost. I chose my audience based on who would get the most value out of this.

It's not hypocritical at all. The Greek/Roman gods are way cooler than the Christian Gods.

And then there are the French words for the days of the week...

Monday, "Lundi" - Moon-day

Tuesday, "Mardi" - Mars-day

Wednesday, "Mercredi" - Mercury-day

Thursday, "Jeudi" - Jupiter-day

Friday, "Vendredi" - Venus-day

The English names for the next two days are also very telling.

Saturday - Saturn-day

Sunday - Sun-day

The only thing that makes me go, "Ohhh well," is that the split between male and female deities is not equal.

I say Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and I don't attach any significance to the fact that they are named after Gods.

Less so than Christians, who were fed to the lions by the people who worshiped those gods.

For the record, I take the "Lord's" name in vain too. If it's meaningless, why do I care?

Rediculous.
It's just the name of the day and month.
Who cares if it was named after something.

This question is terrific, unfortunately the intended target will laugh with you thinking you are attacking non-Christians.

Janus and Wotan could kick Jehovah's *** any day of the week!

I do, but I flub it on purpose. I say Wed-NES-day and Janu-weary. I figure I'm not so much of a sell out that way.

lol good one.
