Right, Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, the son of God was the first Liberal. He believed in helping others, not starting wars, not lying to people, healed the sick without bankrupting them. Can a conservative say the same?

I would consider myself a liberal person and I don't hate Christians. Now, am I a christian myself? No. I hate judgmental people. And sometimes Christians or any other religious faction can be judgmental. Do this and go to hell, don't do this and go to hell--etc.. Who are humans to judge? If there is a God, Messiah, Higher Power, Great Spirit, or whatever you want to call it I believe it would be loving and understanding of all good humans no matter what religion. So maybe if Christians would stop telling people how to live their lives and insisting that they are right maybe people might not hate them. By the way, try listening to other people and opening your mind and heart.

A good christian would be a liberal. It's the fundies who are filled with hate, and by trying to run everyones life like some christian version of the teleban, they are creating a rod for their own back.

Liberalism is a religion to itself, and is often at odds with authentic Christian beliefs.

Liberals believe that God (or more appropriately, the state) gave us free will so we could sin as often and as creatively as possible, without concern for the consequences. This relegates the matter of sin to insignificance, and makes it an item with no real consequences.

Christians understand that every sin is an offense against God, and usually man, and that every sin has consequences, and must be atoned for in some way.

Two world views, totally at odds with each other.

Who and what do you think is the only thing holding back the liberal agenda (gay marriage, abortion with no restrictions, physician assisted suicide, etc.)? Why it is Christians and people of faith. Without religious minded people in the way, they'd have a lot easier time changing the laws of the land.

Why did you quit beating your spouse?

Can you see that this kind of question causes a feeling of animosity? I don't hate christians and I am a flaming liberal! Please, don't make generalizations. It doesn't promote understanding.

Christians believe that they themselves should help others, using their own manpower and money.

Liberals think the government should do it using our hard earned tax dollars.

It's all about letting the government have the control.

Because liberals are just what the name says.....liberal.
We represent everything that is against the grain for them.....which is the truth of the Word of God. It's to be expected from a Godless society.
