Do not forget there was a time when Muslim countries were the centre of the civilized world. It all comes to secularism, which means that most Muslim countries currently lack freedom of thinking and theerfore they are 'backward'

There's a very good book you ought to read, because the "backwardness" of certain countries ha nothing to do with the religion mot practiced there, and everything to do with the manipulation of their resources by other countries, largely the United States..

Backwards, not really, for the most part, they are being held back by under the religious beliefs that are in control of their governments... No separation of church and state...

While I currently do not agree with all of Islam; I will give them credit for something (compared to the USA). Apparently, they are not mortgaging their future. (Deut.15, Romans 13:8).
