"brothers and sisters only"?

Morals and ethics are a PERSONAL thing and as such there is nothing within Wicca that says it is wrong – remember Wicca does not have dogma, no 'sins', it is down to the individual to judge if it is 'right' or 'wrong' to cast a love spell, whether it is general or specific. Some Wicca teach the rede and law of return as a guide, normally to new initiates until which time they can better understand the consequences of their actions, they are not to restrict their behaviour.

Generally people are against the idea of love spells because they believe it interferes a person's free-will; however no one has true free-will, we are all affected by other people and our environment, but ultimately we are the ones who choose to act or think how we do and no one can really ever take that from a person.

Spell casting is not a covert form of mind-control, it is down to the ability of a witch to affect the world around them to their will, we all have a natural ability to use our will to affect the world in the things we do, witches simply take the time to study to use this more effectively and via different means.

Now take for example if I am attracted to someone; I will dress nicely, I will smile to put the idea into their heads that I am attracted to them. If that person notices me as a result of what I do, if this person is then attracted to me, I have affected their will but not in such a way that could be deemed immoral. Magic would simply be taking things that one step further, putting more intent behind the acts which a person does to attract love and going about things by a different means.

No one can erase a person's free-will, only affect it.
No matter how powerful a witch a person believes themselves to be.

So, do YOU think it would be wrong to attract love?

No, it's not unethical.

BTW, here's the very best love spell you can do:

First, you need to know what it's like to be in love, and to also love someone deeply.

Now that you have that clear in your mind, do this every day:

Wake up in the excited, hopeful, energetic, appreciative frame of mind that you have naturally when you're in love.

Notice things more, appreciate things more, take on the attitude that you have when your whole world is made luminous because of your love for someone else. Keep renewing that throughout your day.

Keep doing that.

This WILL work. It will not attract a specific person, but it will make you FAR more likely to get noticed, and appreciated, by a large number of people.

At that point, you have to know what you are looking for, because you'll have a LOT of people who are interested in you..

The MOST IMPORTANT part of this is to be utterly honest with yourself and with others about what it is that you are looking for.

If you also want to do something using candles or whatnot to give yourself a focus, go ahead.

No. There is nothing wrong with casting a spell for love to come to you, if your intent is to make yourself open to be loved only. You wouldn't want someone to love you if it wasn't of their own free will. But be careful, when the spell begins to work, that energy will attract a variety of love towards you. Use your head and good judgement and choose wisely. Blessings!

No. If you're casting a general spell just to bring more romantic love in your life, you are in no way influencing another person's will. All you're doing is creating an environment that welcomes and accepts more love into your life. If the spell says, "I would like more love in my life" as opposed to "I want Jane to love me" then there's no manipulation of another at all.

Blessed Imbolc!

That date comes from the Mayan calendar system. The Mayans used a sophisticated algorithm to determine positions of the planets and dates and times of solar and lunar eclipses. However, on the winter solstice that year (or so I hear), the algorithm suddenly produces negative numbers, which to them was nonsense. The Mayans credited this to the end of the cycle they were measuring and had to start over again with the algorithm.

There's a possibility of backfire here. Define love. There are all different kinds. The person brought just might love you in that "stalker" kind of way.

That said, it might be better to ask for romance to be brought to you, and not a person who will love you.

As long as you are not directing it towards anybody specific. BUT be warned that love spells do have a tendency to backfire so think about this very seriously before you do it.

Blessed Be.

Wrong? No. Will it work? Perhaps, but I've seen way too many love spells just like the one you're describing go very awry.

Remember, "Be careful what you wish for.. you just might get it".

No. Not at all.

Welcoming love into your life via a spell or simply using the power of attraction, is a blessed thing.

Blessed Be!

You are casting a spell to attract love, nothing wrong with that. You are not trying to supplant anothers will, just asking for the way to be cleared so that a loving person will see you.

I say go for it
