Joseph, of the Old Testament, was given a wife by Potifera, a priest (not priestess?) Who was this 'wife', and what architype does she represent? There's a definate lack of information on this seemingly 'discreet' topic...and, if I rearrange the Hebrew letters of her name, I get some disturbing results...Let's hear some feedback!

I do not accept the Bible as God’s word because it contains thousand of errancies and contradictions that can not be solved, only rationalized. I refuse to accept Jesus as my personal savior, for his behavior and teachings often expose one who should be escaped and not worshipped. I ask that you read this pamphlet in light of the bible’s teachings; Christians should be “open to reason” (James 3:17 RSV), that we should “reason together” (Isaiah 1:18) and “he who hates correction will die” (Proverbs 15:10) to understand my perspective that the bible has MANY shortcomings.

1. According to your Bible I am to believe that human kind is sinful for Adam and Eve ate the fruit of knowledge. Why are we being punished for the original sin? After all, they ate the forbidden fruit, we didn’t. Reason would lead one to say it’s their problem, not ours. Even the bible contradicts itself by claiming in Deuteronomy 24:16, “children shall not be punished for the sins of their fathers.

God created mankind and angels---mankind and angels created sin and evil by their choices, and actions.

How long will the creator be blamed for what creation has done?

Evolutionists sit there and say that Christians have thick skulls and only believe what they believe and think nothing of all other religions. When Evolutionists say these things they're just being hypocritical. And just to let ya'll know Christians aren't perfect just forgiven by a God who is. A lot of people that answered my last question said Christians wouldnt listen to other beliefs but really when you say these things your pretty much saying "i'm hypocritical" to like everybody. Why do you do this? You really aren't helping yourself prove your case. As for the people who answered my last question about why people believe in evolution you say I don't know anythingabout evolution well you really can't talk about my religion because you don't know anything about it. You just think you do.

Why does nobody recognize the TERRORIST MIND as a weapon of mass destruction? Thats all 9/11 took. The planes were sitting in America.

You find a terrorist, there you have a weapon of mass destruction.

Thoughts?

The Lord's prayer is recited by approximately a billion Christians each week:

"Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed by thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses (debts)
As we forgive those who trespass against us (our debtors).
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever."

Yet almost a billion people do not have their daily bread. Forgiveness is hard to come by, particularly among Christians. And certainly bad things continue to occur.

But Jesus said, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:19-20)

So why has this massive prayer produced no global change?

How is Leonardo Da Vinci supposed to know the truth. Why would he TRY to give us hints, when it was clearly possible and much more easier to tell anything that he THOUGHT. Also, how would he know anything about it? Why would we base facts of belief from this painting, in which Leonardo wasn't personally there, for he was alive way after Jesus' crucifiction. So tell me, what is the point of trying to make up some stupid theory based on "The Last Supper"?

Although the Old Testament is no longer considered to be the premiere law, why was it ever written? It was admittedly more vicious than the New Testament, but still, God told people to do really bad things, right? So even if he sent Jesus to change the laws, why was he a "mean" God beforehand? I'm a little unsure on the issue. You don't have to quote scripture, it might be more helpful if you could just explain in laymen terms (easier to understand for me).

Basically I just want to know why he encouraged death and such before Jesus. I am not intimately familiar with the Bible, its been a good 10 years since I read it.

a) Hitler was baptized as Roman Catholic during infancy in Austria.

b) As Hitler approached boyhood he attended a monastery school. (On his way to school young Adolf daily observed a stone arch which was carved with the monastery’s coat of arms bearing a swastika.)

c) Hitler was a communicant and an altar boy in the Catholic Church.

d) As a young man he was confirmed as a “soldier of Christ.” His most ardent goal at the time was to become a priest. Hitler writes of his love for the church and clergy: “I had excellent opportunity to intoxicate myself with the solemn splendor of the brilliant church festivals. As was only natural, the abbot seemed to me, as the village priest had once seemed to my father, the highest and most desirable ideal.” -Adolf Hitler (Mein Kampf)

e) Hitler was NEVER excommunicated nor condemned by his church. Matter of fact the Church felt he was JUST and “avenging for God” in attacking the Jews for they deemed the Semites the killers of Jesus.

The bible is an ancient tome which has questionable origins, has been translated repeatedly, and was written by falliable men that have the ability to inject their own personal views as they see fit. Assuming there is a god then why is it she doesn't appear to us and make her wishes known exactly? Is there any solid proof that there is in fact even a god? I would really like to see peoples answers and sources of proof on this. (simply saying the bible says so doesn't really in my mind mean it's true and is contaminated reasoning). It isn't meant to be inflammatory or marginalize anyones personal beliefs, it is simply something I would like to see a good well thought out answer to.

I have always been a believer. When I say always, I mean I used to pray faithfully to my Savior before I had the ability to read or comprehend the Bible. Lately though, there seems to be a deafening silence in my life. I'm married and have a huge family, but lately I feel I'm all by myself. Even when I pray, I don't feel the Lord's presence as I did before. When I used to pray I knew (not believe) that God heard me. But lately, I feel a strange emptiness and hear myself praying as if I’m the only one that is hearing this. Any help from my brothers and sisters in Christ would be greatly appreciated. God bless you.

I mean, you hear about it once in a while on the news, but do the Mormons in rural Utah still practice polygamy to any significant extent? Out in those remote areas of Utah they exist in a world of their own, basically independent of the U.S around them, so I wonder if lots of those critters out in those hills still take 6 or 8 wives? Scary people... sorta like the Amish but with bad attitudes.

There is a verse in the Bible that if you get thrown with a rock then throw a bread back(a fresh one possibly) and if someone robs you of a piece of cloth then give him another piece too and if you are attacked then don't defend yourself cause the vengeance is God's and to pray for your enemy and love them.
So I think this is kinda impossible from my point of view because even if I submit to another persons will and let myself be robbed I will still not like that person too much.
Okay I will not seek vengeance if I get the upper hand but I still would feel pissed at that person in myself.
This command is confusing to me because it seems to ask almost impossible.
What do you think of it?
