I do not accept the Bible as God’s word because it contains thousand of errancies and contradictions that can not be solved, only rationalized. I refuse to accept Jesus as my personal savior, for his behavior and teachings often expose one who should be escaped and not worshipped. I ask that you read this pamphlet in light of the bible’s teachings; Christians should be “open to reason” (James 3:17 RSV), that we should “reason together” (Isaiah 1:18) and “he who hates correction will die” (Proverbs 15:10) to understand my perspective that the bible has MANY shortcomings.

1. According to your Bible I am to believe that human kind is sinful for Adam and Eve ate the fruit of knowledge. Why are we being punished for the original sin? After all, they ate the forbidden fruit, we didn’t. Reason would lead one to say it’s their problem, not ours. Even the bible contradicts itself by claiming in Deuteronomy 24:16, “children shall not be punished for the sins of their fathers.

2. We are told that the Bible has no scientific errors and is utterly perfect/protected, yet it says the bat is a bird (Leviticus 11:13 & 19), hares chew the cud (Leviticus 11:5-6), and some fowl (Leviticus 11:20-21) and insects (Leviticus 11:22-23) have four legs.

3. Heaven is supposed to be a perfect place. It is of course, the place you strive for and name “salvation”. Yet, it experienced a war (Revelation 12:7). How can there be a war in a perfect place and if it happened before why couldn’t it happen again? Why would I want to go to a place in which war can occur? That’s exactly what I’m trying to escape, aren’t you?

1) it isn't a contradiction. When Adam and Eve sinned, they gained a sinful nature. Because everything was created to produce after its own kind, we inheritted a sinful nature also. You don't HAVE to sin. It's an option (but not a wise choice)

if you are saved, your forefathers' unrighteousness cannot touch you, and if you are unsaved, your forefathers' righteousness doesn't affect your salvation, as sin is sin.

2) Heaven is perfect in the sense that there is no disease, pain, etc. War has been going on since Lucifer first rebelled, and will end when Satan is cast into the lake of fire and brimstone.

3) the ancient Hebrew understanding of a bird was an animal with 2 wings, and 2 legs. Easy mistake. Also, on-all-fours is a term that means that it crawls or is not erectile like a human being. think!

really, do your research before you claim the Bible contradicts itself...

The Bible is corrupt. I'm sorry but everyone knows it is. No it is not corrupt that is just your opinion only. 1. Translated a million times wrong again it has not be translated a million times. Can you please name the million translations that were done to it? Please enlighten us on all these translations. 2. Written hundreds of years after Jesus' death The letters were written from 60AD to the last 90AD. The letters were then formed into the bible about 300AD. Before that the letters were passed from church to church. 3. Based on Paul's teachings Paul was inspired and led by God to write what he did. Can you show evidence Paul did not write by the Holy Spirit? 4. Nobody knows who wrote the rest of the Bible, besides the part of Paul. Yes we do they are all named. They have their names in the letters or the book is named after them. 5. There are tens of versions I am sorry first you say there are millions the you say there are tens of versions. Which is it? 6. There are thousands of denomination and they can't agree how to truly interpret the Bible. No there are not thousands of denominations, wrong again. The biggest are catholics, and Protestants. That is only about I believe 8 denominations where are these other so called thousands? 7. Clear and absurd contradictions There are no contradictions in what the scriptures teach. 8. No Science whatsoever True because science is based on the phydsical while God is based on the spiritual. 9. Not enough evidence that Jesus even existed! There is more then enough evidence jesus lived. Writers in the bible saw him and wrote about him as did roman writers mention him. We believe the bible because the Holy Spirit that lives in us explains to us the scriptures.

Spoken like a true atheist. You have little or no knowledge of the Bible, probably never studied it, along with the historical facts of that day. So you pick out a bit here and a bit there and say its all a lie. I can't be bothered trying to convince a hard hearted person like you about the rich truth of the Bible. Jesus tells us to not cast our pearls before swine.

I read your OPINION and must say, you did NOT mention even ONE contradiction. All you have done is complain because you DON'T LIKE what the Bible teaches.

That's your OPINION, and it WON'T get you to HEAVEN, now will it!!!!!!

But thanks for stopping by and sharing your EVIL thoughts. I guess your life is so lame that you don't have time to take candy from children, or beat up old folks and take the social security checks.

And be SURE, you have your OWN SINS, you ate the fruit!!!

Why don't you quote for us what you claim here before we give you our comments? I would like to see how you interpret simple statements.

Secondly, thousands of errors is a little too far fetched, you didn't even list 10 back there.

Thirdly, if you don't believe, don't believe, don't blame something as absurd just because you cannot understand WHY.

And by the way, the bible is not perfect although it contains what God wants us to know. It is a book. Only God is perfect.

So, don't assume and then turn around to accuse. Can I say you are perfect and then ask why you are so FAT?

The Bible is the infallible Word of God. There are lots of people who say the Bible has inconsistencies. I have read the Word of God from cover to cover and I have yet to read one. That is why the Bible says that we should study It to shew ourselves approved. So that when others come to us with their own inconsistencies, we will know they are not truthful. I am so sorry that you have made the choices you have made. God alone is our Creator. He does not need our acknowledgment or approval about anything He has done. He is God all by Himself. For all those critics who say this and they say that, the part I like about the Word of God is when He says that there will be a day when at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. He did not say that they might, He say they will. May God Bless U.

answer to number 1: Just like we have representatives in government, Adam was a representative for us. He chose to ate the fruit and we all suffered. If the representative from your state chose to vote for so-and-so and you wanted someone different to win the election, too bad. He's representing you. You'll face the outcome of his actions.

answer to the other number that i can't remember: The bible isn't a word-for-word kind of book. There is a lot to symbolism and 2nd meanings in there. For example: In genesis it says that the serpent will bite his heel but he will crush it's head. It doesn't mean that when a snake bites you to step on it. It means that Satan would cause Christ to be cursified, but he would come back to like (the biting of hte heel) and then someday Christ will destroy satan and all evil forever ( crushing of the head)

Many will say you are interpreting wrong, I've studied the Bible more than most Christians, and some of its shortcomings are so easy to understand a 5 year old could comprehend that something is fishy......

Don't worry about it. They won't change.

There are zero Contradictions.
QUIT LYING !!!

God’s enemies will use scripture as Satan did to tempt Christ.
They will misquote, twist or askew the truth for their agenda.
For example, Isaiah 45:7 to say God created evil.

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

A deeper study will always manifest truth.

(create) “bara” in the Hebrew.
The Hebrew Poel Participle of the verb “bara” which, with “evil”, requires the rendering “bring about”.

(evil) “ra, raah” in the Hebrew, is never rendered “sin”.
God brings calamity about as the inevitable consequence of sin.
It is rendered “calamity”.

God brings about calamity because of sin.

Whenever there are so-called contradictions of God’s Word, a deeper study is always required.
This requires time and effort of the individual to delve into the truth of God’s Word.
Also, use your brain and think about it.
God cannot create true love.
True love will only manifest in a being of freewill.
In like manner God cannot create evil or righteousness, but will only manifest in beings of freewill.

Do me a favor.. Get in your car, and drive to your closest book store.. Ask the clerk to show you where the Bible is located.
Chances are better than great the clerk will take to the fiction section of the store.. The Bible is a work of FICTION..
I find myself wondering why so many people have such a hard time with this fact.
