I'm also a Christian/ youth Sunday school teacher. God is there! Sometimes we as believers experience these silence feelings in our lives. Be encouraged and try to be strong during this time. We will go through trials and tribulations, but God has overcome the world. I would continue to pray and seek God during this time, He is listening to you, have faith. God will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you know not. Jeremiah 33:3. Fasting is a useful tool as well. I strongly believe God is preparing you for something great. You are not alone and God cares and hears the prayers of the righteous. Be patient and keep searching for Gods voice. I would ask God why is he silent, and/or do you need to repent for something that you did that didn't please Him. This isn't always the case and God knows how you feel. Stay strong and watch this video and know how much God loves and cares about you. SYIH (See you in heaven) my brother. www.mayyoubeblessedmovie.com

The holy Spirit cannot leave a true believer. If you truely believe in christ and do his will, then there will be no problem for you. All you have to do is to have faith when you are before God, i mean when praying. Never lose hope, let your mind be concentrated in what you are doing and i think this will help you out. And one more thing, always pray and ask God for forgiveness of your sins and ask Him to send down His Holy Spirit upon you

I have felt that way at times as if in a valley or desert and have learned not to focus on my feelings because our senses will fail us. Instead focus on truth. Our Heavenly Father will never leave you or forsake you. Nothing can separate you from the love of God. He knew you before you were born and knows what you are going through now. This is not a surprise to Him. Just remember you will end up what you focus on so keep your eyes on Him and not on your circumstances. He has the answers and wants to bless you. There is a blessing on the other side of this emptiness you are experiencing. God is with you - He may be revealing a new part of Himself to you. Be open to the many facets of our Lord and not looking for familiarity. Hope this helps.

Praise the Lord my sister in Christ! (1) The spirit will cease. (2) Yes, the spirit will depart from you being once a believer. Scripture tells us that He will not dwell in a unclean temple. Scripture also tells us that He knows us by our fruit. ( the life that we live) It looks as though you have loved God since you was a small child. Haven't you taken on His holy spirit in the name of Jesus? Haven't you studied all of the book of acts? If so then follow up instructions from acts. You may feel an emptiness because you are not doing your spiritual exercises like you use to since you have married and has this big family now. Your attention is being taken from God and directed more toward your family. Your husband probabally wants most of your attention and so do the children. And if you have a very busy schedule then you are to tired to breath ! And you probally say most of your prayers once you have fell in the bed with exhaustion! That's why God wants us to take good care of ouselves so that we can be alert enough to pray. There could be many reasons why you don't feel that closeness to God like you use to but it is not to late to do something about it. Scripture tells us to examine ourselves. Only you and God knows what your spirit is feeling. But I can give you a few pointers just as I did above. Tell your family that you now a time out from everybody and everything and that is your moment to be in meditation with the Lord. God said to draw neigh unto Him and He will draw neigh unto thee. His arm is not short but stretched out for you to take hold of. In order to feel Him you must have the fruits of the spirit. And remember, He don't leave us, usually we leave Him. Read God's word for strength and remember that the spirit ceases at times but that don't mean that the fire is all the way out. Be encouraged and lifted up in Jesus name.

If you will look in the book of Judges 16:20 This is 16:20 paraphrased: Then she screamed, "The Philistines are here to capture you, Samson" and he woke up and thought, "I will do as before; I'll just shake myself free. "But he didn't realize that the Lord had left him.
Samson had broken the vows he made to God by eating honey from the Lion, and by lying with the harlot. Remember, after his eyes were poked out and he was imprisoned, Samson called upon the Lord one last time and the Lord was with him again when he picked up the pillars causing the temple to fall.
Do you remember Job? Surely he thought the Lord God had forgotten him.....it was the devil trying to destroy him, not that God had left him.
Are you familiar with Jabez prayer> You will find it in

I don’t like this answer and am very reluctant to share it with you. Further you should know that I have no idea just what is the cause of your problem except in the most general terms.
There is something in your life that you are holding on to that amounts to sin. Worse than that the thing itself may not be sin per se but your willingness to hold on to it when YOU believe that it is sin makes it sin and separates you from The Spirit Who made all things.
When you are willing to give whatever it is up The Spirit will return.
Perhaps you are even angry over something that has happened in your life and perhaps you have a right to be angry. But the way you feel “do you well to be angry”?
Read the fourth chapter of Jonah and notice what happened to him.
As a fellow Christian I can not know if this even pertains to you perhaps it is just for me. May the Spirit Who made all things return to you.

Jesus is always with you even when you don't feel him. That's why there is faith. To believe and have faith in your heart and mind not just by feelings but by knowledge. You logic knows he is with you, you're feelings cause you to doubt. That would be like saying I can't feel Jesus anymore so He must not be real or he is not with me. You cannot base your faith on feelings it will get you in trouble every time. If Jesus loves you then he loves you all the time and is with you not just when you feel His presence. Many Christians make that mistake if things aren't going right or if you're prayers aren't answered their faith is lessened. Maybe what you pray for is not what God wants for you. Keep praying and ask Jesus to strengthen your faith. Ask Him what He wants not what you want. We all have this experience until we realize that feeling bad or good Jesus is always there with us. God wants to be worshiped and appreciated for the blessing He gives each of us. When you pray make sure to thank Him for all of your blessings. This also helps put a positive perspective on your life. God Bless You. I'll say some prayers for you.

Your situation is common, and tradition tells us that even the Blessed Virgin Mary experienced such times, so you're in good company.
Anyone can keep the faith when they feel the spirit of God working within them, but it takes a very special person to hang in there during "dry periods".
In the end, these things are intended to strengthen your faith and increase your personal merit.
Write me (using regular email, not the Yahoo Answers email) at Questions@AskMeAboutGod.org and I'll email you a free electronic copy of St. John of the Cross' "Dark Night of the Soul".
He went through this same type of thing, overcame it, wrote about it, and now he's a saint.
You can be too!

God is always with you. Here are a few comforting scriptures. A few promises that the lord will never step away from you....that he always hears every word that you pray....that he has carried you when you did not think that he was.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8
"No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you." Joshua 1:4-6
"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:4-6
I was once in a situation similar to yours. I thought that God had left me and that I was all on my own. I thought that maybe I was just getting by...on luck or something. I then consulted the pastor of my church and he told me this:
" God never leaves you. He is always there watching over you and protecting you. He gives you joy to share with others in time of sickness and pain as well as in times of happiness and jubilee."
We prayed. After he prayed seeking God about the situation, he said this:
" God has told me during my prayer that the reason why you are feeling so alone is because you have sinned and not come to me for forgiveness. You have some unresolved business that you have to resolve with him. I advise you to seek God on your own and ask him to show you where you have faltered. This is not my business and not anyone else's to fix. Go to God in you secret place and seek him."
I later did this and in due time he showed me where I slipped up and he showed me where I made the mistake.
This is also my advice for you today. Seek the face of God and he will show you what is wrong .... or what the problem is. Put some extra time and effort and you will get your results.
Be blessed

I don't think that you are in any trouble! As humans, we naturally have a "hole" which we must fill spiritually. My "hole" for example, is large. I need lots of God! Sometimes I feel the same way as you, but just know in your heart that God IS there, and that He may not want to show His presence. Also, try to find different Churches in your area- I go to three different churches sometimes! I find that the more "radical" ones make worshiping God so much easier- It says in the Bible that we must sing and shout, and be noisy for the Lord!
Hope I could help- I'll pray for you!
