I believe in God but I am always curious and searching. I want to be comfortable with my choice since this is a such sensitive subject. My conclusion for myself is religions are man made. There are so many things contradicting in religions I think that it can't be a work of God. I think it was just a way for people to control people in the old times. So many rules and stuff, and since this is such a mystery it worked for them. Religion is like politics. It's always been and still is to this day used to achieve power by people. If religions are so holy, why are they thrown around like it was nothing? Nothing holy about starting a WAR to get a piece of land! (The holy wars..)

Now, God exists. I know for sure. Not everyone will agree with me. But not a lot of things in the religious books make sense.

Obviously, someone didnt just wake up one day and think, "if people are good, they go to heaven. If they are bad, they go to hell." How did it start? Where did the concept of satan come from?

And please don't say "because its in the bible." I know it is in the bible. But there were stories being told long before the bible was written. How did it make it to its current form as told in the bible?

I have a rather interesting testimony - I became a beggar in India looking for God and got involved in Amerindian sorcery. Finally I met the living Christ, experiencing the love of God. I've written an 8 page testimony and I'm looking for places to post it and ways to distribute it on the net. Where and how can I do this? Want a copy?

Why does he allow pain, death, despair, suffering, unhappiness?
I'm a Christian I just think it's sad how much despair there is in our world, everywhere I look it's depressing.
Why does God allow this?

When I was working and going to school, I was so busy that our arguments were spaced apart. I have always believed my husband's excuses were true...I wasn't enuff, too much stress, or I was a nag by bringing up things that upset him. I recently lost my job to illness. For two years I have prayed for God to help turn our hearts. I read my bible daily, believe in prayer and trying to respect this marriage. I've seen short-term changes in "Ned". ButYesterday, he decided I was sleeping wrong and should move. I said no it takes too long for me to get my back comfortable (I was not in his way). He complained; turned on lights and carried on while I prayed and didn't move. Eventually he elbowed me in the head and grabbed at my face--i had a slight bloody nose and now its black/red. As I prayed for protection the blows didn't hurt---and I prayed for help. Ned woke up this morning with pains all the places he tried to hurt me...which is what leads to think my prayers were heard....

OK, first off, I am an atheist. And I am asking anyone, preferably a Christian, to challenge my question with proof.

My question is how to get into heaven.

I know about the John 3:16, I read the Bible before. Now, I read through Luke. Read Luke 10:25-28. Now, read Luke 18:18-22. OK, after that, read Luke 14:26-33.

See this? You have to honor your father and mother and HATE your father and mother as well.

OK, read John 6:53-54 and Matthew 18:2-3. Continue on... Read John 3:3-8. Then read Matthew 5:17-20. Then John 3:16. But I'm sure you know John 3:16.

Now, here is the total list of things Jesus has said that you need to do to get into heaven, in order.
Love everyone
Sell everything
Hate everyone and sell everything(this must be important, it was mentioned twice)
Eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus
Be like a little child
Be a born again infant
Follow the 613 Laws of the Old Testament and be like a Pharisee
Believe in Jesus

Try and prove me wrong, please.

According to both religions they are the only way to get close to God. Which one do I believe? Well, I don't believe either but I believe in God. I just don't have a religion.

If so, do you believe this is the first time in the history of the infinite universe there has ever been a planet like Earth?

If not, do you believe this is the first time in the history of this infinite universe that there has ever been a world like ours, with cars and people walking around and some of the religious believing there would be an apocalypse?

Eclesiastes said: “What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.”
