Think about it...if people who are evil in this world go to hell when they die wouldn't they enjoy it? For example: people who like pain on themselves on other people? People who kill? People LIKE to suffer? Satanists (everyone knows about the evil things they do)..etc..etc..

If God sent them to heaven, that would be like their hell. They would hate it, thinking it's so BORING. The peace, the tranquility would make them feel like their prison!! Their souls would suffer for time would not go by.. Seconds will feel like lifetimes..

by the holy spirit that you will never fall back again
does this mean that no matter what someone has done or will do once they have found jesus through the holy spirit they cannot turn back and they are forgiven

and because they never fall back again when they discover god
they will definetly not go to hell no matter what is this what this means what the hebrews said?

Don't you feel violated when they say "One nation under God" in the Pledge Of Allegiance? If that's the way they want to be, I don't think I'll say it anymore. In Dec. I saw some Christian Christmas displays, Mary, Joseph, stars..you know what I mean. Why do we have to put up with this stuff and look at these things? I felt so violated that I had to call off sick and not go to work the next day. Our rights are degraded when they put "In God We Trust" on our money. I'm so mad that I'm not going to use money anymore. I'm going to write checks for everything. Now they want prayer back in school. They say their freedom of speech has been compramised. I don't think it has. They can still talk can't they? What about our rights not to listen to them or not pray with them?. They want to put creation by God in schools too. Why give kids two possibilites of creation and see why some don't accept evolution? Why do they think they have these rights? Are there violations here?

The pig is the only animal that does not submit to mankind to be used as food and the only animal that knows it is selected for slaughter when it is selected and as if it knows that it was not created for consumption by mankind and shouts its objections to the rebellious man who does not understand what the King of Scavengers, the pig, understands, that it is unclean and diseased and unfit for human consumption and will in turn make man unclean and unhealthy.

The lamb silently goes to salughter but the pig knows he is not to submit himself to man.

For those of you who aren't familiar, in the states (and probably other places) they have dunk tanks at the country far where somebody sits on a board and people pay money to throw balls at target which, when hit, causes the board to collapse and the person to fall into a tank of water.

Often times this is done for a charitable cause and I have seen county commissioners and so fort put themselves on the ledge.

The job of the dunkee is to gently ridicule (without quite insulting) the person throwing the ball in order to frustrate them and make them spend as much money as possible trying to hit the target.

So assuming all money goes to a worthy cause like cancer research, what one R&S person do you think could raise the most money by being the dunkee.

I say GODZILLA. although I have a feeling the DogSneeze might be a good choice also.

My friend said he was a christian since birth but wasn't saved until 2005, every since then he has been acting strange and always trys to bring me to his church or make me read the bible with him.

Also, what does it mean when a person is "saved" other than the obvious answer that they are saved from going to Hell?

Currently, the English constitution forbids any Roman Catholic from marrying or becoming part of the monarchy of England. Now, Tony Blair proclaimed that the Roman Catholics are not allowed to administer their Faith belief in marriage, adoptions, or social services without the English government approval.
Denying basic religious tenets of their Roman Catholic Faith.
Is this the new bigotry of the twenty first century, or a repeat of the King Henry VIII?

I am not trying to offend anyone. I am not looking for hostile answers. I am not looking for answers from fanatics. I simply would like to know in general what makes one believe in a religion. I did not grow up going to church so my knowledge of different religions is very basic. I am having a hard time understanding how and why one believes what seems to me is simply a collection of fictional stories. I hear people say that religion teaches one to be a good person, etc. In my opinion how you treat someone and how you should behave has nothing to with religion. You yourself decide that you are going to be a descent person, know right from wrong and treat others with respect. With so many religions believing different things why does one choose to believe any of them? Within each religion there are often different views of what things mean. What makes one believe in a higher power when there are so many different versions of the Bible that you have no idea if any of them are accurate?

I do because I believe religion is false. I think we'd finally have good people doing good things and bad people would do bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion (homophobia, anti-science, etc.).

Here's a great video that expresses my feelings entirely: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBFKhshlXDM

By the way, please answer the question. The video is only incidental.

Its all about after we die??
I have posted questions about God not answering prayers, etc. and I get answers like, its not Gods fault your life has hardship, etc.
So we have to go through hell on earth, even though we pray to God every day of our lives, so we can go to heaven?

I was raised a Christian for the first 18 years of my life. I went to college and given a chance to do some research of my own (I am an engineering and therefore a very analytical person; I also try to keep an open mind), I began to have my doubts, because some things in the Bible didn't add up. Since then, I have basically turned secular and consider myself a secularist. I've been bombarded by people from multiple religions saying that being secular is bad, and although I will admit that religions do preach good things, there are lots of things I disagree with. For example, I have no problem with someone being homosexual. I also don't agree with pressing one's religion upon someone else. As for whether there is a God or not, I have no idea beacause there is no evidence either way (I ignore people who argue one way or the other). Also, whether there is life after death really isn't a concern for me. Anyway, now that I've become secular, is it really such a bad thing?

The more dogmatic one becomes, the more intolerant and hatefull they are?
So Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion" is even supported by scripture
Didnt Jesus say "There will be many that say 'We cast out demons, we healed the sick,we spoke in tongues' and he says depart from me I never knew you" & Jesus would prefer to hang out with the NON Believers and He found favor with both man and God?
Was the gospel message originally "Non theisism is the way to go"?
