Kabbalah is just Jewish Mysticism. Whatever conception that "Esther", aka Madonna gives of Kabbalah is totally celeb junk.
I can't really answer since I'm not Christian, but I do have a guess. Kabbalah is about discovering the mystical aspects of the Jewish soul and the deeper meaning of religious scriptures (such as the Torah, the Mishnah, Talmud, etc). (I think) It kinda has a questioning sort of tone to it, in a sense, by displaying the need to explain holy stuff like the Torah.
Christianity, from what I can see, doesn't encourage questioning. I get the sense of "You are not to question the priest or the Lord, or you are an infidel." I don't think that Kabbalah-type things really are thus acceptable in Christianity.

I'm not Christian. I'm Jewish. The Kaballah is rooted in the Torah, and it attempts to look at the the text at a different level--- and this requires Hebrew, because the basis of understanding is at the level of the letter.
I am very familiar with the Yi Jing (Book of Changes), and this demonstrates that while not exactly the same, the cosmological, philosophical, and spiritual principles that are discussed in Kabbalistic works are quite universal. The difference between China and Western religions (such as Kabbalah in Judaism, Gnostism in Chrisianity and Sufism in Islam) is whether they were considered mainstream. In China, the book was cannonized.

It is my understanding that the Kabbalah is not practiced by all Jewish people and that most feel the Kabbalah is closely related to the occult.
I don't know a whole lot about it so I can't say much and probably shouldn't say anything at all.
Why doesn't Christianity have an equivalent? Well, we are admonished not to have anything to do with fortunetelling or sorcery so therefore...........

The purpose of Kabbalah is to see into the intent and planning of God. The function of the Rauch-Ha-kodesh (holy spirit) is to do just that, so we do have something you could call an upgrade.

The Kabbalah is about mysticism, right? Christianity is against that. In fact there is a verse(Exodus 22:18) that goes, "Suffer(allow) not a witch to live".

True believers and followers of Jesus Christ need nothing else to separate them from others. For us, there isn't an elite class of humans that can be closer to God than others. We all come short of His Glory, but we can all enter His presence with boldness. We no longer have to send a man to talk to God (like Moses), we can each go talk to God.

The Kaballah is a combination of Jewish mysticism with Gnosticism.
Christianity is a mystical religion for those who apply it, so no body of psudeo-scripture is needed.
Christian mysticism and sorcery are two different things. The rosary can be a mystical expirence. Trying to kill someone with a hex is another thing entirely.
