My friend said he was a christian since birth but wasn't saved until 2005, every since then he has been acting strange and always trys to bring me to his church or make me read the bible with him.

Also, what does it mean when a person is "saved" other than the obvious answer that they are saved from going to Hell?

1 John 5:13, "These things I have written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life."

You know if you are saved by the things written in God's word.

1 John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

You know if you are saved by knowing where you are walking.

If we walk in the light, we have fellowship and cleansing.

The word "if" however implies there is another option.

If we stop walking in the light (the light of God's word or "these things written"), we step out of fellowship with other believers (and with God) and we step away from the cleansing blood of Christ.

So again, we know if we are saved by a study of the scriptures and by knowing where we are walking in relation to what the scriptures say.

The term Christian means "little Christ". Therefore, no one is a Christian until they have been reborn spiritually. Your friend was saved in 2005 and also became a Christian in 2005. And the behavior you are describing is normal. He should be trying to get you to do those things. I do not know how to descibe to you, "how" a peson knows they are saved. They pray a prayer, and when they do, if they were sincere in their hearts, then they were just saved. Sometimes, you get a tremendous weight or burden, you physically feel lifted from your shoulders. Sometimes you have a sense of peace and joy and hope that you have never felt before. Being saved means you won't be going to hell. But even more than that, you always have God with you, you always did before as well, but know you will sense His presense. Being saved means you know you have an eternal place to go where there is no sadness, but an overwhelming peace and joy. Being saved means, no matter what happens to you or what you do in this world, God will get you through it and you will be stronger than before. Nehemiah 8:10-Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Being saved is the best feeling in the world, in fact its out of this world.

Life is short, pray; HARD!!

Ah, yeah, but do you want to know a real kicker to all this?
There are two "Jesus's" coming. I wonder which Jesus all these people are gonna end up "saved" by?
The first to come is Antichrist (Anti in Greek means "instead of") -
he's coming disguised and pretending to be Jesus Christ himself. Do you have any idea what thats gonna be like? The churches (many of them) will fall all over each other trying to get to him. They are Biblically illiterate to the core, and most churches don't teach that this fake comes first. Its gonna be the biggest tent revival you will ever see. Then the true Christ returns after that - He comes to find millions of so-called christians worshipping the Antichrist. They will wish for rocks to fall on them and kill them, instead of facing the true Christ.
So I ask you: How saved do you figure those folks are? Not very saved if Christ comes back and his Children are supposed to be waiting patiently for Him, and there they are worshipping a different "jesus". They will have been saved by satan.
Not a good thing. So as far as "saved" goes, we'll have to wait and see - many who think they are saved are only told by some pastor that they are saved. The proof will be in the pudding.

If you have sincerely acknowledged that you are a sinner, that you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins and you repent of your sinful ways, then you're saved! Upon being saved, you try (sometimes over and over again!) to do as Christ would've done. In other words, you walk the walk, not just talk the talk. You live His commandments.

Christians have a lot of jargon they use very familarly that someone outside the church wouldn't understand. To be 'saved' means just that, you have been saved from going to Hell, you name has been entered into the Book of Life and Jesus will always keep you near. In other words, you are held in escrow, lol. And Christ has paid your account in full.

With the possible exception of the Anointed Class, they won't know until the resurrection. At that moment, they will awake to either a new body on a post Armageddon Earth, or to a declaration of judgment, after which they cease to exist.

when you become saved its coming from darkness into light example:when i loved God but yet not saved i would try to read the bible and it was like a foreign language to me,saved its like a first grade reader people see life in a total diferent way than before and i feel a contentment and peace that i never knew i loved God but yet wanted to do my on thing instead of following Him afraid possibly that all the fun i was having i would have to give up and become what they call a holy roller there would be nothing left for me to do works just the opposite thats why we are in this world but not of this world(satan rules the world --God rules us)

Very short version is he repented to Jesus and was forgiven of all sin and now he is trying to live right and is wanting to share with you.

If it makes you feel uncomfortable it wold be OK if you were to politely tell him alone that you share his enthuesium but not as much. Hopefully he'll get the hint and ease off you.

Save from going to hell? not yet!!!

The Bible tells us in Romans 8:24-25

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Christians are saved by hope, and hope requires patience, and patience till the end of time or till the end of life.

First one should never ever state a stupid fact such as "I'm saved"! for he nor we shall ever know if we have done enough to please Allah! So tell your friend to keep this to himself and I advise you to stay far away from this person being saved is causing him problems & has made him lose his ability to not harass you!

P.S maybe he's baptized - I don't know I tried! Im Muslimah!

christians can lose salvation. No one is guaranteed salvation. We must continue to live as Christ commanded us , if we are to have a chance of being saved. Salvation means avoiding eternal hell by the blood Of Christ.
