I'm not Atheist either, but I too am sick of this question. Do a search for this question, dude and you will see all the answers given to each of the 50,000 times it was asked.

I'm not an atheist but I will TRY to put this to bed for EVERYONE. Or for whatever my opinion is worth anyway.

Scientific THEORIES can be proven or disproven. When they are proven, they are physical LAWS. We prove these physical laws based on things we have DEFINED.

And that's just it. God is not something that can be proven or disproven because everyone has a different DEFINITION of God (or in the atheists case NO definition). If you DEFINE 2 as the number after 1, then it can be PROVEN 1+1 is 2. And we have done exactly that. Had we defined 3 as the number immediately following 1, then we could prove 1+1 = 3.

But we have no definition of God we all agree on, so how can we prove or disprove something we have not defined?

Here is the situation. Atheists cannot prove there is no God. Theists cannot prove there is a God.

Since neither side has any conclusive proof to support its claims, the question is academic.

Why not discuss something that you can verify?

Why do you Christians expect us Atheists to prove to you there is no God. You are the one having the problem with it. why should we help. We already know there is no God. We don't need to prove it. If you are having problems with your belief just use a little logic and reason and figure it out for yourself. BB

A-HA! Prove to me that there IS a god. You see, this is why I don't believe. I can't prove to you that there is no god, and you could never prove to me that there is one. Why believe in something that nobody can prove exists? Think about this- If god exists, then why can't anyone prove that he does? If god doesn't exist, prove to me that he doesn't? Do you see what I mean? We could play this game all day long, but when it comes down to it, nobody can prove anything either way.

Do you really believe there is an all-powerful, almighty, invisible superbeing that created the earth, the universe, and you, and loves you and is controlling your life? Think about it. Throughout human history, mankind has turned to unbelievable fables to try to explain their existence and creation. Romans believed in Neptune, Apollo, and Diana, who we now know didn't exist. The Greeks believed in Zeus, Aphrodite, and Poseidon, who we now know didn't exist. Untold numbers of civilizations have risen and fallen, all believing in various deities, who today we know never existed. During that time, God never made one appearance, in any writings. God didn't appear until (according to our calendar) 2000 years ago. However, except for the bible, no other writings speak of "God", in any of his forms until roughly 600 AD or so. If the bible was true, then SOME writings would have been appearing from the beginning of time, verifying the fantastic feats of which the bible expounds. No my friend. God does not exist. God is simply modern mythology, in the making. Five thousand years from now, humans will believe in some other imaginary creator, and study American mythology (God) in the 5th grade, unless we do find evidence supporting how we truly came to be. Unless you can prove to me there really is a "God", I'll stick with reality. Come to think of it, you're one of those people, when presented with a "wet paint" sign, have to touch it to see for yourself, aren't you?

Atheism is a lack of belief in gods. I don't believe in gods. It is that simple. I never claimed I could prove anything outside of mathematics. It seems like you don't know the definition of atheist. An atheist is defined simply one who does not believe in gods. An atheist is not necessarily compelled to prove anything, unless of course they are taking a mathematics class and need to pass.

Proof is something Mathematicians do. In the real world we collect evidence and based on that evidence we estimate probabilities. Based on the evidence available to me, I estimate the probability of your god claim being correct as being insignificant.

If you present credible evidence I will look at it and adjust my estimate accordingly.

If the only proof of god is in a book that human beings wrote, then there is proof that there is no god. Only the imaginations of the authors. Also, if the universe is infinate, there is no beginning, then where does a creator fit in the picture. Humans invented god as a way of explaining things that they could not understand, that is until something called SCIENCE came along.

Prove to me there's no Flying Spaghetti Monster, Santa Claus, Baal, Tooth Fairy, Kali, Easter Bunny, Zeus, Invisible Pink Unicorn, or Athena. Get the connection? You see, none of these exist. They are made up by people. They are imaginary.

So is God.

You say that God exists. Prove it. Get one of the tiny tiny minority of scientists who aren't atheist to help you.

Collectively the more intelligent and better educated people are the more likely they are to be correct in evaluating questions of fact and in applying logic.

Collectively the better the more intelligent and better educated people are the more likely they are to be atheists.

Conclusion: if you are an atheist you are much more likely to be correct than a theist. Conversely if you are a theist you are very unlikely to be among the most intelligent, best educated people.
