According to both religions they are the only way to get close to God. Which one do I believe? Well, I don't believe either but I believe in God. I just don't have a religion.

According to the Universal Law of Justice you don't need a religion to be counted among the blessed. If you can find it in your heart to accept this then go on, live your life to the full. Love the positive and ignore the negative as a grievous waste. Or if all else fails remember, living well is the best revenge.

First you have to understand a little about History. God created the Heaven and the Earth. He found favor in a man names Abraham. This man loved the Lord and had a persona relationship with him at a time when the human race was young. God promised a blessing to this man and promised him an offspring of many that will be blessed. is first child was of a maid servant, names Ishmael, his second son was of his wife, named Isaac. God told Abraham to bless Isaac and that his seed will be the blessed one of the promise. this from the beginning has created a wedge between then to, up unto today where you see the Israelites and the Muslims. That was there origin. No Christianity came from the Jewish religion where many believe that the Prophets for told of the savior Christ. Christians believe in Him today and Jesus.

No, you ask, can you go to Heaven when you die if you Pray to God. Yes, if you pray a payer in your heart that you believe in Christ, tat he was the only begotten Son of God, he died on the cross to save you from your sins and that you ask Him to come into your heart and be your Lord. Yes, you will then be saved. Will you Suffer when you die, perhaps not. But you will suffer reticule and hatred from the non believers because o His name.

Try spending some time reading in the Bible and you will learn much much more.

I'll tell you what. Read the Qur'an and the Bible and you decide which one you believe is best for you. I won't tell you what to believe.

Me, I'm muslim. When I decided to be muslim, it was my choice based on what I felt was best for me. You may feel that Christianity is for you, but that's your choice and there's nothing wrong with it. I took Islam over Christianity for several different reasons. One being because I don't believe that Christ was God on Earth. Why? Simply because it contradicts my own beliefs that God can't have human attributes and that man CANT be God. It makes no sense to me. Why would someone as mighty as God and All Knowing need a HUMAN to play his role on Earth? It just doesn't make sense to me. It may be different for you.

In my religion, we only believe in God and God alone. We don't have idols (such as Christ), we don't worship other humans. We don't have statues of Mohammad in our mosques. In my religion, there is only one religion, Islam and one book, the Qur'an. We don't have 30 different sects and 30 different versions of the Qur'an as there are dozens of different versions of the Bible. This is, of course because of the Qur'an's simple text. You won't have a hundred different interpretations or contradictions in the Qur'an. There are many reasons why I choose Islam over everything else. I felt that it was more down to Earth and in touch with reality than any other religion. I suggest that you read the Qur'an. It won't do any harm and even if you don't choose Islam, you'll know what it's about so it's not a waste of your time. If you're looking for God, you'll find Him.

With that being said, Islam may not be for you. It may not fit in with your idea of "God's religion". So it's important that if you want to find the religion for you, you should do some research and find what's right for you.

I think it is great that you love God with a passion. This is a great step in getting to know who God is. With a religion, you can know more about God and not make God so vague. In order to get to know God more I would read on the Christian religion, especially the four gospels. Jesus Christ revealed God to us in a perfect way. You have the oppurtunity to make him your lord and savior and have a personal relationship with HIm! With Jesus, God becomes so much clearer. good luck on your journey of fiath.

Goodnes is a characteristic of God. I believe God has already saved us. Religion can sometimes cause us to fear. Scare us into believing what is being taught so that we end up getting into the "right" religion, which seems to become "the" popular religion. I do not believe God cares about that. God is about love and relationships. Not really about lists of rules that one has to adhere to in order to get saved. That aspect seems to be a human creation, if you ask me:) Which, I guess, you kind of did (smile).

God says in the Holy Bible, there is none righteous no not one, there is none good, but God alone. No one will be go to heaven by their own merits. Only by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, who meets your needs and satisfies God's requirement for redemption of your soul, by casting your all on Him and trusting Him with all your heart mind soul and strength and loving your neighbor as your self, will you or any one else go to Heaven. For it is by grace that you are saved through faith and this not of yourself lest any one should boast. It is a free gift of God. Choose Christ and live reject Christ and suffer eternally in the pits of Hell. - Suffering after you die is a false doctrine of purgatory - for Christ's suffering on the Christ for sin was sufficient for all sin, nothing else could be added and nothing else could suffice - it is only in Christ and in His meritorious work on the cross alone - that salvation is gained.

no, you still have the sinful nature you were born with.....
no matter how good you are.....
no matter if you believe in God......
no matter if you pray.
Here is what God says is required:
John 3: The Words of Jesus Christ (God in the flesh)
3. "Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
4. Nicodemus saith unto Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"
5. Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God."
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18. He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

You're ok just the way you are.
God did say he shows no partiallity(respect)for any particular religion. You don't need one of those religions to believe that God is your saviour,to have faith that you're saved.
If you think you do then you don't believe that God is your savior

Religion that has a certain name isn't needed. If you feel that's what you need to be close to God then you don't have soul faith that he's with you now always.
I mean what if you're stranded on an Island all alone and there is no Churches or religions. You don't need a religious name.Just God to help you through your times in what ever type of life you're going through.
I feel he's just as close to me as he was when i went to church.
And thats very close.

Can't you just accept that every living thing has to die at some point, and that's all that happens? GROW UP. You don't need a religion to be a good person. You don't need an imaginary god or life after death either.

some Christian communities are becoming yet many are stagnating. in case you look previous the numbers game and examine lots of the books and hear the leaders, there is amazingly little intensity to it. lots 18th / nineteenth century textile of little religious incredibly worth has merely been re-packaged and simplified. maximum folk pass away the thinking to others and are not afflicted to earnings, or to think of for themselves. additionally, I question no count if maximum folk desire something to do with the undemanding Christian suggestions of showing useful love, kindness and forgiveness. some do, (God bless them) yet each and each of something merely look to desire a vaguely Christian social club that may not substitute, or challenge them. in short, from my own adventure over 34 years, the united kingdom is turning out to be a non secular barren area. i think of we desire a clean initiate, and that i don't advise yet another corporation or a clean denomination. I advise greater quietly; persons re-analyzing their historic faith and working in direction of it. thinking heavily and being arranged to advance their religious lives, working it out in useful techniques to boot. Christ presented the religion at this grass-roots point besides.
