I'm based in the UK and I've read a lot of the questions on here regarding Christians. Is it me that just thinks this but are a lot of questions on here making Christians sound like the mother out of that film Carrie?

I have friends who are Christians, Roman Catholics & Muslims and all of them are not as "full on" as these questions are making them out to be. In fact their religion is hardly mentioned, my friends who are Christians may or may not go to church and some of them belive that you don't need a church for god to hear you etc etc.

I'm not a religious person but I think some of these questions are really making people out to be what they are not. Or, is this simply the way people are in other countries.

Does anyone else think this?

My Girlfriend is Orthodox, and I am having a lot of trouble getting my head round the teachings of Orthodox.

I do not understand where in Bible it says “man may make saints and pray through them”. In Christian believes you are not allowed to contact the dead. But you are allowed to contact church made saints? I don’t get it.

Mother of God. Why did the Church decide she was divine all her life? I don’t think Joseph would have agreed. He is Human too, like Mary. Also where in Bible does it state we can pray through Mary?

Post, not eating meat at certain times of the year. Why only certain times of the year? You eat meat or you don’t. No in between...

If we were able to figure God out then why would we need him? He has much more insight to what is going on than we could ever know. More people should actually read the Bible more often than they speak. Not just read a little here and there and take things out of context, but actually read it and then say something intelligent that is based on fact rather than whatever just popped into your mind. Regardless of what any of us think or believe God exists. He doesn't need us in order to survive and until we understand this we will continue to be self indulgent. I'm writing this because Satan is a deciever and is going to Hell himself so he wants to take as many people with him as he can. Kind of like when we get caught doing something we point the finger and try justify it by throwing as many people under the bus with us in order to feel better.

many churches come together with social issues, local, or national. but somehow they are seperated by doctrines. i went to a UCC church as a child, but we would occasionally have guests from a local baptist church, and occassionally we were invited to worship with them. it seems most protestsant churches can do this easily, but can and does the catholic church?

where is the seperation of legality and faith. faith said at one time that mixed racial marriage was bad, but that is slowly being accepted thankfully. i could go on, but there is no point in being lengthy. if your church will not endorse it, that is the decision of that church. but why should a church(s) or faith(s) be so against it being legal if it is completely constitutional to do so. why is it always placed behind the words" protect the family", and statements like "confusing children" be the case. kids don't get confused, it is what it is, 2 men or 2 women. why would the formation of my family with a spouse of the same gender change how you raise your family to be?
