where is the seperation of legality and faith. faith said at one time that mixed racial marriage was bad, but that is slowly being accepted thankfully. i could go on, but there is no point in being lengthy. if your church will not endorse it, that is the decision of that church. but why should a church(s) or faith(s) be so against it being legal if it is completely constitutional to do so. why is it always placed behind the words" protect the family", and statements like "confusing children" be the case. kids don't get confused, it is what it is, 2 men or 2 women. why would the formation of my family with a spouse of the same gender change how you raise your family to be?

It shouldn't matter. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't have a convincing argument opposing gay marriage. They simply resort to quoting the Bible. That isn't an argument. People who oppose it should give "their" reasons, some that they have on their own, without using the overstated reasoning of it "is in the Bible". I'm straight, but I personally don't care if homosexual people get married. I've heard people argue that it shouldn't be allowed because then they will get benefits that "traditional" married people get. Why shouldn't they? Why, because I am straight, do I deserve more from society or the government than somebody that is gay? Simply..I don't!

Some people also use the argument that children will get confused. Not so. Children, when too young to understand, will just love both parents. When old enough to understand homosexuality, it will no longer be an issue. And, children are raised successfully everyday by single mothers or fathers. They don't get messed up without having both genders present.

I am a 'good Catholic' and also a person who believes that 'marriage' means a lifelong commitment between two PEOPLE, no 'gender' attached. I have good friends, some are 'straight' and some are 'gay' ... I am married to 'the best man in the world' and he AGREES WITH ME, although, like me, he's 'straight.' Wouldn't this world be a WONDERFUL PLACE if people could just spend their time making sure that their own 'bed is made' and not spend so much time 'looking under the covers' of their neighbor's beds?

Paul scolded the Corinthian church that allowed fornication and incest in their midst because they were puffed up with pride for their tolerance toward those in sin. Do you know that among many pedophilia is accepted and that many hope it will be made legal someday. Does that give you any insight into the fact that everything that is acceptable to man, any man, is not acceptable to God?

I first want to start by saying that in the Bible, it doesn't say that there can't be interracial marriage. It talked about the tribes of Israel not mixing. As far as the question you have asked. In the Bible it says, "Judge not lest ye be judged". I can't judge someone for their lifestyle and wouldn't want to. I know how it feels to have people judge you for the choices you make in life. I think there are all kinds of definitions of families in America. Single parents, grandparents raising their grand kids, etc. I imagine that two fathers or mothers fit into that too.

It was never an acceptable social norm and thats changing over time but its changing slowly because its so deep in our culture we have established traditions of gender and sexuality and how people should behave. I think a lot of people that are religious are starting to see the hypocrisy in persecuting homosexuals and hopefully things will change in the next few generations.

Can't be worse than muhammad(pbuh) of islam.

Muhammad was a rapist ccum pedophile

Muhammad raped women and encouraged his men to rape women. The booty(women) were always shared after a raid between muhammad and his men.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59 Number 459 - "I entered the Mosque, saw Abu, sat beside him and asked about sex. Abu Said said, 'We went out with Allah's Apostle and we received female slaves from among the captives. We desired women and we loved to do coitus interruptus.'"

Muhammad had sex with a BIOlogicially underaged girl of 9 years old when he was past 53 yrs old.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64 -Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was just nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

Muslims keep lying that Muhammad is clean. Sure, as clean as faecal water.

Keep praying Thomas. Sooner or later you'll have the strength to come out of the closet and renounce that nonsense you've been taught.

It wouldn't affect my family. The only thing I would say is if a church is going to say they preach the Bible they need to preach the whole Bible. They shouldn't ignore what the Bible says about homosexuality being an abomination.
