live in Hell forever?

If this idea were true, wouldn't it show God as a cruel and sadistic power?

Could you love or respect a God like that?

Isn't the idea of everlasting torment in "hell", truly an insult to the goodness of God?

In the one at Eden, Adam lived 930 years even after sin, Jared 962, and Methusaleh 969 and died in the flood year, Noah was age 600 before the flood and had 350 after, Shem had 502 years after the flood and life spans dropped fast.

The promise was a New heavens and a new earth, or back as it was before Eden.

Several religions, including the Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses, have had many sex offenders among their priests and other leaders. However, it seems they almost always attempt to hide behind penitant priviledge and do not report these accusations to authorities for investigation. Do you think they should be required to report the accusations; and, should the religion suffer civil or criminal penalties if they do not report?

Why should I believe in Jesus? I know that he definitely existed, no question. But apart from the deeds he is reported to have done while alive (no proof outside the bible), none of the promises he gave have happened. So is he who he said he is. The same question was asked by John the Baptist. Jesus reply was that the sick were being healed and the dead were being raised. But since Jesus death, nothing! Absolutely nothing! Those who have put their faith in him have had no protection, illnesses have not been cured and certainly no one has been resurrected. Quite the opposite in fact. Christians have been tortured, beaten to death, starved to death, and imprisoned for years, murdered or simply live in fear of their lives. Jesus said (I think) look! I am with you always. He also said (Think) Do not worry about what you are to wear or eat, your heavenly Father knows you need all these things. Have you observed the lilies of the field? If He can clothe them which will be cast away tomorrow, how much more so will he care for you?Or,not one bird falls from the sky that is not noted by God, how much more will he care for you. All this is in stark contrast to the reality, from the hideous death of John the Baptist, the stoning of Stephen and the horrible deaths of the Christians thrown to the lions and eaten alive, and so I could go on.
Do I want to believe? YES! I used to. I am now 66 and believe in nothing except there is most certainly a God, but I don't believe He is interested in earth and its inhabitants anymore.

I believe it`s gonna be a religious false christ cult thru the apparations of mary. The muslims and catholics both believe that mary is ok in their eyes of a strong deity to go thru besides the only way which is Jesus Christ. Remember;the only way to salvation is Jesus according to the true scriptures of the gospels. The reason I say this is because in egypt(not sure the year) muslims and catholics seen an apparation of mary and muslims were praying to her like the catholics were. The lady of fatima is the name and the word fatima is an original name from mohamed`s daughter.

Atheism is the disbelief in the existence of any deities. We simply disbelieve one more god than our Christian fellows. That is the end of the debate, really. The Christians that enjoy the same freedom of/from religion that we do have no reason to justify their choices. Blaming these people in this forum for a bloody and violent past is a lame attempt at discrediting their integrity. My grandfather beat his wife, this does not logically suggest that all grandsons are guilty of beating their wives. Some are, most are not. Although many Christians have an excellent record of placing representatives of their views in our three branches of government does not mean that all Christians are hoping to turn America into a theocracy. Insulting people for their beliefs by asking juvenile questions, ant proposing sophmoric logic statement is embarassing. The childness of most atheists in this community is insulting to the majority of atheist that think, feel, and act.

And don't say genes or society – those things are out of our control. You have to be taught in the first place to want things on your own. And not choosing who you are taught by seems in violation of freewill.
