live in Hell forever?

If this idea were true, wouldn't it show God as a cruel and sadistic power?

Could you love or respect a God like that?

Isn't the idea of everlasting torment in "hell", truly an insult to the goodness of God?

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. You see He doesn't want anyone to perish, but He is also a just God and He keeps His word. If He didn't do that He wouldn't be God. We have a choice to live under the law of sin for which the penalty is death or we can choose grace through Jesus Christ which gives us everlasting life.

This idea is true

who could be so dumb to say that this is sadistic when all he is trying to do is give you a free pass out of it.

Imagine that you were in a burning building but you were a few floors above the fire so you werent really feeling the effects yet. A fireman ran up to your room and said "come on we got to get out of here"
It seems that today's most popular answers are

"no its cool. i'll just take my chance with that fire."
"my friends are in the fire too. at least i will have fun"
or
"no i'll wait till the fire gets closer. it's not worthy wasting my life yet. i'll wait till it gets closer."

of course I could love and respect a God that would be willing to do that for me, to give me a way out of the everlasting torment.

God gave you a choice in life.either you except him and live eternity with him or you don't except him and go to Hell it is a choice that God give to all people it's only up to you of what choice you make. That's why Jesus died on the cross so you could have salvation. But it is all up to you to accept him in your heart. and want to live with him. God is not a forceful God.but ones you accept him he will lead you down the right path if you listen to him.all good comes out of Jesus Christ.but the Devil will tempt you to do bad every chance he gets.if your not saved i really hope you choose to be. God bless you!

And catholics, have twisted the word to fit their own selfish desires. Hell for an eternity? It doesnt say specifically an eterntiy, but God does give you an entire life time TO CHOSE!

All people are accountable to God whether they have “heard about Him” or not. The Bible tells us that God has clearly revealed Himself in nature (Romans 1:20) and in the hearts of people (Ecclesiastes 3:11). The problem is that the human race is sinful; we all reject this knowledge of God and rebel against Him (Romans 1:21-23). Apart from God's grace, God would give us over to the sinful desires of our hearts, allowing us to discover how useless and miserable life is apart from Him. This He does for those who reject Him (Romans 1:24-32).
In reality, it is not that some people have not heard about God. Rather, the problem is that they have rejected what they have heard and what is readily seen in nature. Deuteronomy 4:29 proclaims, “But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.” This verse teaches an important principle: everyone who truly seeks after God will find Him. If a person truly desires to know God, God will make Himself known.
The problem is, “there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God” (Romans 3:11). People reject the knowledge of God that is present in nature and in their own heart, and instead decide to worship a “god” of their own creation. It is foolish to debate the fairness of God sending someone to hell who never had the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Christ. People are responsible to God for what God has already revealed to them. The Bible says that people reject this knowledge, and therefore God is just in condemning them to hell.
Instead of debating the fate of those who have never heard, we, as Christians, should be doing our best to make sure that they hear. We are called to spread the Gospel throughout the nations (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8). The fact that we know people reject the knowledge of God revealed in nature must motivate us to proclaim the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Only through accepting the Gospel of God’s grace through the Lord Jesus Christ can people be saved from their sins and rescued from an eternity apart from God in hell.
If we assume that those who never hear the Gospel are granted mercy from God, we will run into a terrible problem. If people who never hear the Gospel are saved…we should make sure that no one ever hears the Gospel. The worst thing we could do would be share the Gospel with a person and have him or her reject it. If that were to happen, he or she would be condemned. People who do not hear the Gospel must be condemned, or else there is no motive for evangelism. Why run the risk of people possibly rejecting the Gospel and condemning themselves – when they were previously saved because they had never heard the Gospel?

Religion guides us a way how to spend lives. This world is a space for a person to test his believes, his faith and loyalty with God either in hardships or moments of happiness. A person will get his reward after his life according to the deeds he did in this world. He will be highly rewarded, with no limit of time, if he succeeds to pass these test of life, other wise he will have to bear for sins irrespective of religion. God says to human that think of your mother who gives birth to you and loves you more than any thing she have, then you can't imagine the height of love from me, for the reason that I created you in a best of form.

My God is a very loving and forgiving one. It is my belief that the Lord knows our Hearts, our souls, and that truly good people even those who are ignorant of his word go to heaven. I am a christian but not a very educated one. But I hope I am right. I believe we are all God's children, created by him and that he wants us all in Heaven and that only those who deny him and choose to live to please satan will be denied access to the Kingdom of Heaven.

You're exactly right. God is love. He will use his power to destroy the wicked, not to keep them alive eternally just to give his archenemy the pleasure of tormenting them.

You are missing the point....

Let me give you a quick run through of the events back in the begining:

God created us.
We lived in harmony in Eden.
We went against the Will of God (followed the will of the devil)
Which means man kind submitted himself under the athority of the devil, and we fell from Eden.

So now the devil can punish us and let us go through all of the negative suff in live, and God wants to save us, but He will not go against his own promise, so He must allow the punishment to continue....

He sends His Son, to die, to take our place, and take the punishment upon Himself.

He went to hell, and because He stood blameless before the kingdom of death, they could not hold Him, He got Ressurected and by doing so reclaimed the authority. So we must submit ourselfs under His authority to recieve Heaven, if we dont we stay under the devils authority, an dgo to Hell...

God does not send ppl to hell, but saves us from it if we accept His truth.
We choose our own desitny. Our own faith.
So we cant blame God, or Judge God because of our own faults.

God wants to save us all and reaches out to us, but not all of us grabs His hand to be rescued
