Am attending one of these new charistmatic churches, i was once a member of the church choir, we were once having a choir practice and a colleague of mine raised a song we all laughed but i went out because my phone was ringing, so this means it was a coincidence but the fellow taught is becus of the song she raised that made me laugh to the extend of me going out to laught the more. she reported it to our pastor and made me received some kind of talk from our pastor which i didn't liked it so i decided to stay in the house on the following Sunday, my pastor asked of me and he was told i didn't come to church so he assigned his wife to cancel my name from the choir, i accepted but all am trying to say is, they now want me back into the church choir which i've vowed to myself never to step foot in that choir because i couldn't get a fellow to defend me when they were putting all the blame on me. and for that matter, i've joined another church. is it the right thing to do. help, thanks

Most of us are used to being "at home" in our culture. But the desire to fit comfortably into the culture can propel us beyond "being in the world" to where—often unknowingly—we become more "of the world." Instead of being squeezed into the world's mold, instead of Gods's mold.

How do you, or have you, influenced the lives of people around you?

How are you a person who brings glory to God because your life is truly different from your culture?

How are you a transforming presence in the world around you?

I know atheists don't generally believe in the religious descriptions of these things but do you find them entertaining?

Did you ever complain while watching Spaceghost? The Green Goblin and Hobgoblin were two of the best characters in Spiderman and the Silver Surfer was the herald of Galactus, a godlike being.

Is the existence of such creatures beneficial for humanity if not for their moral and entertainment value?

Can't we all agree that sinning is just a state of mind depending on which religion you follow? I mean christians have their definitions of Sin and so do muslims.ect. but If you think about it the Dali Lama Never sins...ever the man is non violent and he is the complete model of sinless perfection. He doesn't even go around bragging about it like muslims and Christians do. I don't believe in any religion but when you say some one is a sinner isn't it just your personal opinion. Because I don't feel like I have ever "Sinned"

where the rich man ate well and never hungered a day in his life and poor Lazarus was laid at his gate just wanting to eat the scraps off his dinner plate. Now the rich man ended up in hell and Lazarus in Abraham's bosom (the Jewish meaning for heaven). At the end of the story the rich man asks Abraham to send Lazarus to his father's home becase he has 5 brothers to warn them about this place of torment so that they will not end up there as well when they die. "But Abraham said 'The Scriptures have warned them again and again. Your brothers can read them any time they want to.'
The rich man replied, 'No, Father Abraham, they won't bother to read them. But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will turn from their sins.' "But Abraham said,'If they won't listen to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even though someone rises from the dead.'"
Jesus rose from the dead and many still didn't believe in him. and many will never bother to read the Bible.

Throughout the Scriptures, we repeatedly read, “Do not be afraid.” Yet many circumstances in life tempt us to take our eyes off God and focus on our fears.

How can we find fortitude when we face fearful things?

How can we continue to trust God when hope seems futile?

How does the character of God and the promises He gives us fortify our hearts against even the most overwhelming fears?

NOTE: I am not asking this because I am afraid of anything, I am asking this to see what other's answers will be to these questions.

I just learned that evolution is real. It is really quite interesting. Some of the creationists have pretty good comebacks though. It is hard to not believe them. Can anyone give me some facts about evolution to tell the creationists?

1. Most of you are taught that you're naturally wicked. Humans can easisly become what they think they are

2. Plenty christians say "everybody's bad". That's what bad people say to make themselves feel better about being bad

3. You also say "I'm nothing without god" You dont really like yourself. That's setting yourself up for low standards

4. Most of you say being good wont get you into heaven. Why be good?

5. Most of you think the world wont get better until Jesus comes. Why even try to make things better?

6. No sin is greater than the other? You put MURDER in the same boat with lying about your age? That's a sick belief

7. Plenty Christians admitted that they're playing the better safe than sorry game. They say if they dont believe, they have more to lose if they're wrong. Basicly, they dont trust they're own intellect.

Do you think that Jesus cares more about what you do on this earth or more about who you are? I think one of the scariest verses in the Bible is this: "Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity." Matthew 7:21-23.

Isn't the key to eternal life with God the Father to depart from iniquity by repenting of your sins and trusting in His Son to save you from iniquity? Or do you think Christianity is really just another work based religion where you try to be a good person and do good works hoping Jesus will look favorably at what you have done on earth? Why are so many deceived?

In the USA you have the option to overthrow the government if you disagree with it. However if you do try to overthrow the government and do not succeed you will be tried for treason.

Is this akin to the freewill offered by God?

Religion offers you the option to agree or not agree but if you don't agree and are wrong you will be tried for treason.

Is the USA basically a tyranny where the strongest sets the rules? Is Heaven the same?
