Throughout the Scriptures, we repeatedly read, “Do not be afraid.” Yet many circumstances in life tempt us to take our eyes off God and focus on our fears.

How can we find fortitude when we face fearful things?

How can we continue to trust God when hope seems futile?

How does the character of God and the promises He gives us fortify our hearts against even the most overwhelming fears?

NOTE: I am not asking this because I am afraid of anything, I am asking this to see what other's answers will be to these questions.

WE turn to Jesus Christ he is our savior and greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.

Yes, scripture tells us that. We just don't follow it because we have a lack of faith in God. He is asking us to trust Him completely, so even in the most fearful moment, a true believer should ask God for strength. Humans don't want to give away control that easily and simply rely on God. That's the problem. We need to humble ourselves and give all power to Him, then we will be alright in all kinds of situations.

If it's not a knee-jerk, someone nearly runs me over with their car "fear", or I'm dying of a heart-attack fear... and just like being "afraid" about a tornado warning or somesuch... I reflect that all things are due to causes and conditions, not everything is within my immediate control, if I have the karma to get "whacked" then I'm gonna get "whacked", etc. It calms me down real quick and focuses me on what really needs to be done in that moment like double-checking my first-aid kit for when the hooie is over and people need help.

Sadly, we are but Mortals, thus burdened with mortal thoughts and feelings. All you describe above are mortal feelings, We're afraid of what life can bring upon us. I believe this is where Faith comes to play, Are we not taught to look beyond what life has to offer and think of only the blessing we will receive in the next life. Easier said than done, but not impossible. That's why we pray, so we may be granted the strength to get through this life.
"Just my take on it."

These are the things that should bring us back to God.
I know from personal experience that God let me bang my head against wall after wall until I learned to trust in Him. MY biggest fear was always not being in control. I finally realized that I was NEVER in control, not even in the beginning. God has the control. And once I gave Him his rightful place in my life and turned everything over to Him all my fears vanished.
I still struggle. I just have to keep reminding myself who is boss. Once I pray that little prayer. The one that says basically, "God, this is yours. Please take it from me." I just pretty much have to let Him work. AND HE DOES!!

I turn to the course in miracles.

It has taught me that most of the fears that I have are induced by the religious teachings I recieved as a child.

The fears are no more real than the nonsense I was taught that creates them.

I think relating to someone or something you trust, ie. god, your idol etc....and facing your fear straight on can help you overcome it. No-one will do it for you so you've got to accept the responsibilty and get on with it. Relying on god to sort out your problems and fears is false hope I personally think.

I would just keep my faith strong, and pray. I'm going through a really tuff time in my life right now (work, school, relationship, family, the works.) But I will always keep my eyes to god, and things will eventually look up, and I'll probably be a better person from all these experinces. Keep your faith alive, and never doubt.

Learn Kung Fu.
Or make friends with people who know Kung Fu.
Or Just make some random monkey sounds and dance around, people will assume the worst ,either that you are crazy or that you know Kung Fu.
And all will be well.
Peace be apon you.
