I have tried time over time. Even to the point of lying to myself to become christain. I have found that it would be so much simpler if instead of always being boggled about sertant things, that if i was christain they would be answered. Life would be simpler.

I have honestly tried praying that god come to me in his unique way and save me. I have gone to church begging for it to make sense, yet here i stand.

Unfortunately, maybe my high intelligence is a curse, but i cannot come to terms with christianity. I have tried so many times. I cant help it, my mind just keeps pointing out the flaws and the complete nonsense. My mind always is pointing out how the socail functions of a religion works and how the people benifit and how people blatently lie to themselves. I SEE IT! I just cant come to terms with lieing to myslelf like others do. I cant help but seeing the complete flaws and nonsense it is!

Honestly, i wish i could be christain. I just cant. But it would make life so much easr

I believe that God exists, but I also believe in sex before marriage, which is considered a sin. Is it really a sin? Sex with someone you really love is supposed to be a wonderful thing, before or after marriage.

And it feels like it's a power not for mere mortals to possess. That's why it ends up so terribly wrong sometimes turning into horrifying anxiety. Those of us who are allowed to taste the power of the tremendous gift that keeps disappearing are cursed. We get a taste of perfection and greedily consume it until there is nothing left except the constant craving for more..It's incredible the delicious devouring of everthing in our path. Every one seems delectable with their colorful auras attractively emanating out of every pore in their body. A feast for the senses. Nothing is wasted, evry idea, every word, every thought is recycled until it fits perfectly into another piece of the puzzle that needs to be solved. Nothing is coincidence. Everthing fits perfectly into some master plan , some grand scheme of things. The mind is constantly sorting and filing and proccessing stimuli into the seemingly proper categories. At the same time exquisite love flows through your veins, the po

I see many people saying that the Devil is tricking you and you will go to hell if you don't believe. But I always though that you should believe because you love God/Jesus, not because you hate the Devil/hell. So what is the point of telling someone they are going to hell for their beliefs to try and scare them into religion?

I guess I haven't been exposed to many people that don't believe in God. Before coming to this site, I was not aware that so many people do not believe in his existance. I was just curious as to were you taught this by your parents or did you come to this conclusion on your own? If you began to feel this way after a certian event in your life, what made you come to this conclusion? I am an open-minded person and curious to why people rule out the possiblity to God's existance?

I say hypothetical, 'cause my kids are grown and on their own now.
You have a 12 yr old son, and lately his attitude is not what it used to be. He used to be polite, always chattering about his day at school, his friends, etc. Lately, though, he is withdrawn, sullen moody, answers in grunts and one syllables, IF you can get that out of him. He's always looking to pick an argument with his parents, and flies off the handle over every little thing. You've asked him what's wrong, considered counselling, (he flat out refuses to go), and grounded him and taken away privileges until he starts turning his attitude around again.

Do you think drugs may be involved, although you've had the talk several times with him? What would YOU do?

I am for the most part agnostic. I neither belive nor disbelieve any religion. Yet I have seen no proof in god or the existance of jesus and I don't really feel that the bible may be completely true. As far as I know, the bible could be just a collection of fictional stories and quotes. I do believe of the idea of a higher power that may or may not have created human life. I do have a problem when religious people state their religion to me and other agnostic people and we are fine with their beliefs and don't really care, but when an athiest or someone religously neutral states our beliefs to religious people, they become offended by it and look down on us. Why? I personally don't care what people believe in I just don't want them pushing their beliefs on me and I don't want them thinking it's bad that I don't believe in the ideas they do. As far as I am concerned no one is right. Please help.

He died from a heart attack in his beach house. I wasn't close to the man because he lived in a foreign country, but from what I know, he had good and bad just like you and I have. Nevertheless, his 3 children (under 13) are now left without a father. Where is this loving god of yours? Personally, I just know he returned to his state of non-existance as before he died, and although I feel bad for his kids, I know that the universe is cruel without preference without anyone out there that could have prevented this. Where is your god theists? If he expects our devotion, he should at least have the decency not to just apathetically disassociated permitting young children to die.

P.S. My 90 year old great grandmother (my uncles mom) is still alive but doesn't know her son is dead. Is this really fair on her too when she finds out?

Then there is no beginning and no end. In this age of science Isn't it an uneducated thought? that a Creator of this calculated and perfect universe doesn't exist? How can a big bang happen just like that? when the things resposible for it were always present or if they were not present then where do they came from?

Or, are there whole Buddist sects that do not believe in reincarnation?

I consider myself agnostic and am very interested in Buddhism, yet cannot quite buy into the whole reincarnation bit. Is there a Buddhist branch out there that would work or is reincarnation one of the main branches of Buddhism?

Thanks.
