Regardless of what anyone will say, Buddhism is NOT a religion. Buddhism is philosophy. However, 'personally', I find Buddhism the most credible system of thought, when compared to any other religion. Then again, there are people who claim to be Buddhists when they don't know the teachings behind it, and rub the stomachs of fat golden statues...for good luck; hence they are 'religious'. I'm asking the question: Can anyone find any inconsistency in Buddhism?

If you can, I'd like to hear any, and explanations would be highly valued. I'm hoping there are no religious prejudices, e.g. Buddhism has no God and contradicts my religion, because frankly, that doesn't make Buddhism inconsistent. I'd like to get some facts down. Perhaps, it's about time to clarify misconceptions and prejudices over Buddhism, whereas I can understand society in a broader sense.

Thanks. :)

The word of the Lord is pretty clear:
"During the night. . . Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him there till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not throw Jacob, he struck him in the hollow of thigh, so that Jacob's hip was dislocated as they wrestled. The man said, "Let me go, for day is breaking," but Jacob replied, "I will not let you go unless you bless me." . . . The man said, "Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you strove with God and with men, and prevailed.". . . Jacob called the place Peniel, "because" he said, "I have seen God face to face and my life is spared." (Genesis: 32: 22 - 32).
I've been perplexed over the years about how best to explain this passage. Am I missing something? Perhaps you could explain to me please. Thanks.

,he did not pull the trigger, flip the switch etc. If I ordered you to shoot someone don't you have enough freewill to refuse my command. If you do not then do so are you more or less reponseable for that sin (ie murder) as the person who commanded you to do so

"Cant all the religions just learn to Hate everyong EQUALLY?"

My answer:

"No absolutely not. They have to single out who to hate. Homosexuals are at the top of the list."

How do you explain Jesus' emtpy tomb. I've been reading some of the ridiculous questions on here about My LORD and SAVIOR Jesus. Someone posted that Jesus can not come back to earth bc he is dead.. WELL.. YES HE was a human, and died a horrific death for YOUR sins as well as mine, He was BURIED and NOW his tomb is empty.. you can even go to Israel and see that it is Empty.. How do you explain that??? It is obvious to me that no amount of arguing will change any of your minds, but I gladly await the day when WE ALL shall bow and worship Jesus. I wonder what you will have to say then???

The most curious social convention of the great age in which we live is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected.

where do you think he is now ? and why , you do know that if saddam truly called upon the name of the lord jesus christ sometime before he died , and received christ ,was born of the spirit , redeemed , etc...
where would he be biblicly speaking ??? after all , we are all sinners worthy of hell according to the bible , are good works are worthless in gods eyes , if you think good works will ge you to heaven , all I can say is ouch , thats gotta hurt , Iam reminded of the story of the hated tax collecter in the bible who didnt compare himself to anyone , thinking he was better , he simply said to god , forgive me a sinner , and jesus said he was justified .

Iam thankful I have a foriegn righteousness , in Jesus name , amen

I know this has been asked before......but I would like to ask again. :-)

There are a lot of "religions" that pray to "a" god that has NOTHING in common with the God I worship, but Jews, Muslims and Christians all started the same.....they are Abrahamic Religions. Do they all pray to the same God?

I would like to hear INTELLIGENT conversation on this issue. Saying "You're stupid" or "You suck" is just silly and pointless.

No harrassment or slamming of other religions ---- it will be flagged.

People call themselves Christian based on their belief in what the Bible tells them. And God's word appears to be very clear, at least that's what they always tell me.

Why is it when I ask why Christians are against gay-marriage, or against abortion or euthanasia, I get accused of 'generalizing Christians' ?

They ALL share the same faith in what God tells them in His book. Is it my fault that one Christian interprets God's word differently than another Christian? Or is it God's fault that He wasn't very clear in his Holy Choice of words?

If you had no prior conception of a loving God, which of the following events would lead you to the conclusion that such a loving God exists?

+The 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, that left more than 230,000 people dead or missing and destroyed countless villages and towns.

+The 2005 Pakistani earthquake that killed more than 75,000 people and destroyed countless villages and towns.

+The 2005 US Hurricanes (Katrina and Rita) that together killed 1842 people and did almost $100 Billion dollars' damage.

Does this question make it more understandable why atheists do not believe in God?

My views have not really changed but I have had to reconsider some proofs and find better ones.
