An Atheist doesn't blame God, silly. An Atheist tries to show you that there are too many horrible things happening on this planet for a "Loving God' to exist.

You assume that those of us who already believed in him think that "God did this." I don't want to sound rude, but you speak of damaged souls here, and imply that God did this and God damaged those souls. I would imagine at least a few of the parents mourning this morning are Christians, and out of respect for them and their beliefs, you need to let them grieve in the way that works best for them. I'm willing to bet that, a year or ten years from now, if you asked them, at least a few of them will tell you that it was their faith that got them through this tragedy. At least, that's been the case with just about every other tragedy experienced. To those who have faith in God, that faith is often strengthened in tragedy. It's almost a natural instinct for us to turn to God when bad things happen. After 9/11, churches across America didn't see an immediate decline in attendance and membership. In fact, people showed up in droves, searching for answers or just wanting to reconnect with their faith. Don't believe me? You're the atheist blaming a God you claim doesn't exist.

I agree with Markster..... he does have a point there you know.... The dictionary defines an atheist as one who disbelieves or denies the existence of supreme being of beings...( god)..... We (atheists refuse to accept that there is a god; much less a loving (god) like most people picture. we sometimes blame him/her/it as a rhetorcic remark to show that he doest exist...... if he did exist... why would he let bad stuff happen to good people? Freewill my ***!!! it doesnt neccessarily mean we believe in him.her/it. If iit makes you feel any better, we, atheist dont believe in the devil neither... :) lol

They don't blame GOD, they just use God to defend thier argument by trying to say that if God was everloving he would not do those kind of things but this only disproves thier argument because if that were true then they would have to also reverse the argument to say that when good things happen God could not have done that either because he isnt everloving????? Thier argument is nul and void then.

I haven't blamed a nonexistent "gOd" for ANYTHING. I contest that, if this "gOd" DID exist, bad things would be its fault, but that is only for the sake of argument... I don't ACTUALLY blame anything on mythology.

By the way, I don't "believe there is no God"... I am WITHOUT BELIEF in the existence of deities. There IS a difference.

They don' blame God. They just ask the question "Why do Christians praise God for good things that happen but do not blame God for bad things that happen?"

Small but Fierce, Did you know that the majority of your questions and answers are ignorant, idiotic, and bigoted? Way to go representing Christianity and making yourself look like a fool.

For the love of your god, shut the hell up.

This would be absurd. I would never blame a God that doesn't exist. I only blame people.

I've never heard an atheist blame God for bad things that happen. The idea is absurd, which is why they don't do it.
