Yes I still beleive that islam is a peaceful religion. I am a staunch Catholic and it is obvious to me when I look at the islamic book of faith that peace, looking after your fellow man, etc is strong through out.
It is the workings of a small group of people who pervert the teachings of they Quran (?) koran (?).
They twist the words to fit their needs and in doing so have condemned a peaceful people to constant persecution.
I truly respect those of the Islamic faith and I hope and pray that some day soon that the rest of the world will open their eyes and see what I see and stop the persecution of innocent people.

Yes I believe it is a very peaceful religion but there are still those that will resort to violence if needed to emphasize how devote they are to Islam. It has nothing to do with what the religion calls for or teaches.

A religion is an abstract set of beliefs, it can be neither peaceful or violent. It can advocate peace or war, and it's followers can be peaceful or warlike.
There are peaceful Muslims, and peaceful Christians just as there are war loving Christians and Muslims.

Religions themselves are incapable of being violent or peaceful. Its the followers that perform those actions, based on their interpretation of the religion, which usually reflects their own personalities and circumstances.

it truly is a question of philosophy. And this is troublesome to respond to. easily, it easily relies upon on the guy. To a Christian, a Muslim has been branded a terrorist, a warfare-monger. yet on the standpoint of a Muslim, what's Christianity to him? Is it not that Christians are those who commence up wars and such to their variety. The feud between those 2 faiths strains its roots to early historic previous, of the Moors, the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, the Crusades and such. yet extremely, such questions really handle biased solutions.

islam, christianity.. its all 'peaceful' in concept, but people dont go by peaceful, they go by powerful, society itself has corrupted otherwise ideal spiritual approaches to life. religion is corrupt, the popes, priests, religous leaders are all corrupt. on one side, muslim priests are calling for their people to kill westerners, and you dont hear the pope complaining cuz the vatican is one of the most wealthy places in the world, so he is just chillin, having some fun, no one gives a ****

I do. Although Im Roman Catholic, I know that muslims are good-willed people trying to do whats best. I also know that some are very radical, but it doesnt mean that all are. Kind of like Christians- some claim to be Christian and yet they hate certain people. Not all Christians are like that.
