It was just another day. I was barely aware of it. I think most people have lives and everyday problems that are far more important to them than to worry about that.

I heard an Iranian guy on a call in show the other day say it was a gift from God for Eid. So not all Muslims are Saddam fans so maybe it was good timing.

Did you not realise that everytime in december, esp 26th december, thousands of muslims die around the world out of 'natural' disasters???
I believe something very very powerful is working to correct the imbalance. Perhaps bashyr in indonesia was unfairly released and thousands were punished in return for it.
As for Saddam's death on Eid day, I would say that its nothing special. Only because he's Saddam! Actually many muslims die in the middle east every day.

my comment is: DOES IT REALLY EVEN MATTER???!!!!!!!!
so what if it was eid??? and im a shiite muslim and i know the imp. of eid
hes dead and thats all that matters. he was a HORRIBLE person and it doesn't matter if he was executed on eid or on a regular day.
i've heard a person say "because they executed him on eid, they made him from zero to hero" . .. . . does not matter!!!!!!
if they waited for too long, it might've gone haywire or wrong or w/e
and of COURSE ppl (esp. mullahs) are gonna disagree. they have to disagree about EVERYTHING. their opinions don't count nor matter in any way

They don't care about Eid day. They have more important reason. as long as he's alive, more killings and fightings occur with expectation to release him in Iraq. one day he's alive, one hundred ppl may kill or be killed. So the faster the better.

as good a day as any. Muslims killed him, not Christians , Jews Hindus or Buddhists. They must have known what they were doing. maybe they did it then so it would be done with and there would be no reason for riots.

Well, IRONIC, because muslims are so damn angry about that, while they are not angry about "jihad", and holy war, and all those terror attacks on Eid days or non-eid days... Islam is really a silly comedy.

As a muslim, I support his execution but the timing was awful. It was more about revenge than justice.
